Great news for everyone holding Bitcoin and keeping them safe and sound on Ledger hardware wallets. Today Ledger announced that they will add support for the Bitcoin Gold fork as soon as possible.  To make the announcement even better they also announced that will add support for the fork on the current chain and the Segwit2x chain.  As everyone probably knows with the coming fork which creates Bitcoin Gold, everyone holding BTC on a current or segwit address will receive an equal amount on the Bitcoin Gold chain. This is the reason for the current Bitcoin price spike because you can basically get free money as we’ve seen with the Bitcoin fork that created Bitcoin Cash. I’m not sure when the fork into Bitcoin Gold will take place exactly but it scheduled to happen at block #491407 apparently.  It’s great to see a hardware wallet manufacturer like Ledger step up their game by following the action as quickly as possible and making sure we are well informed. I’m sure a big amount of (development) work needs to be done everytime something like this happens and they must invest in supporting new cryptocurrencies in order to stay relevant. ------------------ Want to start mining?
