Hello beautiful people of Hive, I hope everyone is well and your week is going excellent💖 Today I want to tell you a little bit about the first time I visited Cuyagua, since it was an unforgettable experience, I don't have many photos because on that trip I only concentrated on enjoying this wonderful beach to the maximum. 

Cuyagua is a beach in Venezuela, located specifically in the state of Aragua, it is very close to La Cienaga and Cata (you can see my trip to La Cienaga in this blog https://hive.blog/hive-168869/@valeriaehb/my-first-full-day-in-the-cienaga). 

La Cienaga, as I told you in my previous blog is super quiet almost like a pool but Cuyagua is the opposite, it is super strong and deep, really if you do not know how to swim it is best to bathe on the shore (as I did).

For this trip we were more than 30 people, about 10 vans between family and friends, we were really a lot of people, we left Caracas at 12pm, we arrived to Cuyagua at 3am, really the trip is not so long but as we were many we made several stops on the road, to go to the bathroom and eat something. 

When we arrived at Cuyagua at 3am we started to set up the tents, I had never stayed in a tent before so we asked for help from a man who was in one of the vans, What the people who live on the beach told us was that we had to be very careful when setting up the tents because on that beach there are many turtle nests so we can hurt them and it is not the idea, in fact we have to leave the vans on the road to avoid the risk of damaging a turtle (unfortunately I could not see any cake, I would have loved to). After setting up the tents we stayed up until 5am talking and listening to music.

We decided to place all the tents in a row, see that the sea is far away from the tents, this changed at night, the tide rose a lot and almost reached the tents, in fact some friends got the water in the tent and wet all their clothes, they spent the whole weekend with wet clothes hahahahahaha it was sad but funny.

To cook we used a kind of gas stove or grill, to go to the bathroom it was complicated because of course there are no bathrooms, so you had to walk and walk to find a bathroom in town or easily you went to a hidden place hahahaha. 

With the issue of fresh water for bathing we did not suffer so much because as you see in the picture Cuyagua has a very rich river, the water is not so cold and has a lot of movement, so what we did was that at the end of the afternoon we went to take a bath in the river and then we cooked or made a campfire. 

On Saturday afternoon we found a mountain at the end of the beach, we saw that there was a dirt road so we climbed up so once we got to the top it was very scary because on the other side of the mountain we could see how the water was hitting the beak and it sounded very hard and it was very scary. 

Once up there we decided to take pictures as the beach looked beautiful, here I show you some of them.

Cuyagua is beautiful and if you ask me, I would go back a thousand times, the only thing I did not like was that at night it rained a little, they explained that this happened because it is near a mountain.

That beach looks amazing. How do you know where the turtle nests were? Are they marked out? 

I would be so scared of the tide coming in and taking me and my tent out to sea, there's no way I would camp so close to the water, your friends took about of a risk there I think, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

We didn't know where the nests were, that's why we were very careful and it was a bit risky to camp there but really it was just a wave that reached the tent hahaha

I do hope that the nests were ok. Are there not any conservation authorities there to ensure the turtle nests are safeguarded?

Lol yes, but knowing my luck, that wave would have taken me out to sea 🤣

I am not surprised that some people got their clothes wet jaja that is what happens when you forget that tide goes out and come in.
It looks like you had a great weekend though. I do love swimming in the sea and cooking fish that we catch, that would have been a cracking weekend:)
