AI & Community Knowledge: A Practical Test for Efficient Documentation | KI & Community-Wissen: Ein Praxis-Test zur effizienten Dokumentation (en/de)

At the last Monday meetup, I learned about the **Propolis Wiki**—an exciting community project initiated by @Pharesim. The topic immediately caught my interest because I had been involved in a similar project before. Back then, our goal was to document errors in technical systems, especially those that could become safety risks, ensuring that this information was always available to authorities and manufacturers.  

### 💡 The challenges we faced back then?  
- Time-consuming research  
- Language barriers in documentation  
- Ensuring a structured and standardized format  
- Seamless integration into existing workflows  

We found solutions, such as **predefined templates**, to streamline the process. But today, we have **new tools**—especially AI!  

### 🤖 My experiment:  
I wanted to explore how **modern AI systems** can support projects like this:  
✅ Can AI help create structured wiki articles?  
✅ How well does documentation work in the native language and translation into English?  
✅ Can AI be integrated into daily workflows without increasing the workload?  

I already use AI daily for research—whether for problem-solving, text creation, or writing letters to authorities. However, relying on AI blindly would be a mistake since it’s not perfect and still requires critical review.

##### KI & Community-Wissen: Ein Praxis-Test zur effizienten Dokumentation   

Im letzten Montagsmeetup habe ich vom **Propolis-Wiki** erfahren – einem spannenden Community-Projekt, ins Leben gerufen von @Pharesim. Das Thema hat mich sofort fasziniert, denn ich war bereits an einem ähnlichen Projekt beteiligt. Damals ging es darum, Fehler in technischen Systemen zu dokumentieren, insbesondere solche, die potenziell gefährlich werden könnten. Ziel war es, diese Informationen jederzeit für Behörden und Hersteller bereitzustellen.  

### 💡 Die Herausforderungen damals?  
- Hoher Zeitaufwand für Recherchen  
- Sprachbarrieren bei der Dokumentation  
- Einheitliche & strukturierte Erfassung von Informationen  
- Reibungslose Integration in bestehende Arbeitsabläufe  

Damals haben wir Lösungen gefunden, z. B. durch **vorgefertigte Templates**, die den Prozess erleichterten. Doch heute gibt es **neue Werkzeuge** – insbesondere KI!  

### 🤖 Mein Experiment:  
Ich wollte herausfinden, inwieweit heutige **KI-Systeme** uns bei solchen Projekten unterstützen können:  
✅ Kann KI helfen, strukturierte Wiki-Artikel zu erstellen?  
✅ Wie gut funktioniert die Dokumentation in der Muttersprache und die Übersetzung ins Englische?  
✅ Lässt sich KI sinnvoll in den Arbeitsalltag integrieren, ohne den Aufwand zu erhöhen?  

Für meine Recherchen nutze ich KI bereits täglich – sei es zur Problemlösung, zur Texterstellung oder für Behördenschreiben. Doch KI ist nicht fehlerfrei, daher bleibt eine kritische Überprüfung unerlässlich.

Gepriesen sei nicht derjenige, der die KI nutzt, sondern das kluge Köpfchen, das das stets hungrige und oft vorlaute Monster im Griff hat und mit dessen Kapriolen nicht nur umgehen, sondern das Ausgespuckte auch richtig einzuschätzen weiß.
Für meine Arbeit hat sich der Versuch mit dem »Allesfresser« als untauglich erwiesen, da die KI weder in der Lage ist, meinen Gedanken noch mehr Ecken und Kanten zu verleihen, noch (ganz auf Harmonie gebürstet) Glattschliffe am Text zu vollziehen. Sinnfrei nachzuplappern ist keine erwähnenswerte Fähigkeit und durch Wortverschiebungen oder Kürzungen Sätze in eine grammatikalische Oberliga zu hieven, verpflichtet den Autor nicht zwangsläufig zu Freudentänze.

Ich sehe KI mit einem offenen und einem kritischen Auge. Es ist wichtig, die generierten Inhalte sorgfältig zu prüfen. Doch gerade bei Wiki-Artikeln geht es vor allem um sachliche, neutrale und emotionslose Inhalte. Die Texte sollen klar und einfach formuliert sein, um Probleme und Lösungen verständlich darzustellen. In diesem Bereich ist KI ein wertvolles Werkzeug – besonders für die Recherche. Am Ende reicht ein präziser Befehl, und das Ergebnis ist strukturiert und gut dokumentiert.

Wenn ich als objektiver Beobachter des Zeitgeschehens meine Eindrücke und Erkenntnisse in schriftlicher Form der Öffentlichkeit präsentiere, dann sollte ich im Vorfeld die Nase in den Scheiß gesteckt haben, über dessen Geruch ich mich auszulassen gedenke. Das Vertrauen bei einer solchen Recherche auf die KI zöge eine Klagewelle nach sich, die du ohne tiefe Narben nicht überlebst.
