Hello everyone! How are you doing today? Hope you are well. I am fine and having a pleasant weekend. Let it go. Let what go? The good, the bad, the drama? Absolutely don't let go of the drama but maybe choose your battle field. You know that saying about not going into the gutter to fight the pig? I'm pretty sure that's not the saying but the message is the same but before we get into it - the art share comes first I believe I shared this piece a while back in an incomplete form but here she is now  And ah...  “There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others.” – Pride and Prejudice Not every kind of strength is shiny. This morning, I found myself holding back from cursing out a taxi driver who completely disrespected me. And I don’t mean calling him an idiot — I mean really letting go, wishing him terrible, terrible luck with the kind of energy only fury can summon. It’s a specific kind of anger — the kind that rises up when someone decides they can mistreat you simply because you’re a woman. Because you look like someone who won’t fight back. I hate that feeling — of being seen as “soft” and assumed to be powerless. For a split second, I wanted to confront him, make a scene, get my slice of justice. But then I paused. I thought about the energy it would take to assert myself, to get that fleeting sense of satisfaction that in this battle I won. And what would he gain by “winning”? Probably just the joy of ruining my morning and getting money he did not earn. So I decided, "Not today, Satan" And I walked away. Within the 15 mins I had set off from home to work, I was in another taxi going back home. In retrospect, I think that, too, was strength — not loud, not flashy, but deeply rooted. The kind that chooses peace over proving a point. Yes, but I'm still not happy about that money I lost he he he.
