The new attracts, but the new also creates resistance.

We always try to bring people to Hive using the reasons that made us come here, when in fact we should find out what reasons they had for coming here. It's like a sale, where you first discover the person's pain points and if you have a solution to solve that problem, you make your offer.

There are people who create content, and people who consume content. Those who are just on Instagram and Tiktok swiping up to see the next video will never come to Hive, or at least not in the next few years, so these people are the majority, but they are not our target.

The person who spends more time sharing videos and photos in DM with friends will also not come to Hive, there is no Direct Messaging system around here to share content that can be consumed quickly, so again, these people are not our target audience.

However, you know at least a dozen people who are there frequently trying to start a trend on Tiktok, feeding their Instagram feed, their YouTube channel with long videos or shorts, or even trying to create one thread or another on X. And yes, these are our targets.

After identifying these people, we have to understand their purpose. If they are looking for ad revenue from YouTube advertisements, monetizing views on X, looking for some advertising for Instagram or just wanting to grow on the platform to be famous and be the next celebrity (and consequently profit from that image).

Even with such different plans, all of those mentioned in the previous paragraph have the potential to grow and create content within Hive. But why would they leave the network where they have already created a user base, to come here in the uncertainty of a better future?

There is no short-term answer other than money. Yes, this is sad, but the first step that shines in the eyes of outsiders is monetization and not belonging to the community. He is not creating his community on web2, he does not understand the importance of this, he is looking for a way to be monetized, and we have to show him that here there are no barriers to requirements that exist where he is.

We have to show that here he will be planting in a much more productive field, and that it will depend on discipline and constancy and not on the luck of the algorithm. The work will be greater, but the reward will be greater.

The sense of belonging, of community, will come later, when he starts to create and interact with other content, and for this there is a great need for good content and for this content to be well remunerated. No newbie will be happy to see that their well-developed and crafted post made pennies while a giveaway post made 10 dollars.

We also need to be a help channel, the user needs to understand where they can go to learn when they feel they are stagnating on the platform. And the answer cannot be delayed. When he has a question about a web2 platform, a friend is always nearby and ready to help him, we have to be that friend.

We have to make them question why they are producing content for free where only the web2 platform is monetizing and profiting from it, when he could be making the same content on web3 and the money going entirely to him, without him being subject to censorship or losing his account at any time due to some new directive that came into effect last week without him knowing.

Give yourself this challenge, tell 3 friends about Hive, show the content you are creating. Don't invite him before he's asked all the questions about the new thing you're showing him. O novo atrai, mas o novo também cria resistência.

"Como assim te pagam pra postar? Isso é pirâmide" disse um jovem incrédulo sentado, com os olhos semicerrados fitando um outro jovem que estava com uma mochila nas costas exibindo um button nsa cores verde, vermelho e preto escrito 'HiveBR'.

Calmamente o Hiver tirou sua mochila das costas, abriu um pequeno sorriso no rosto e sentou-se de frente para o seu interlocutor cético. "Eu te explico."

E então começa o processo de onboarding, após uma cena típica que pode vir de vários outros questionamentos além de pirâmide como: Não existe isso de pagar para você escrever na internet; Mas ninguem usa, por quê vou usar?; De onde vem esse dinheiro?; Isso ai é coisa de bandido; Eu não entendo nada de programação é muito difícil para mim; etc.

Sempre tentamos trazer as pessoas para a Hive usando os motivos que nos fizeram vir para cá, quando na verdade deveríamos descobrir quais os motivos que ela teria para vir. É como uma venda, onde você primeiro descobre as dores da pessoa e se você tiver uma solução para resolver esse problema você faz a sua oferta.

Há pessoas que criam conteúdo, e pessoas que consomem conteúdo. Quem está apenas no Instagram e Tiktok deslizando o dedo para cima para ver o próximo vídeo nunca virá para a Hive, ou pelo menos não nos próximos anos, então essa pessoal é maioria, mas não é nosso alvo.

A pessoa que passa mais tempo compartilhando videos e fotos na DM para os amigos, também não virá para a Hive, não há por aqui um sistema de Mensagem Direta para compartilhar conteúdo que possa ser consumido de maneira rápida, então novamente, essas pessoas não são nosso público alvo.

Porém, você conhece ao menos uma duzia de pessoas que estão ali frequentemente tentando engatar uma trend no Tiktok, alimentando o seu feed do Instagram, o canal do youtube com videos longos ou shorts, ou até mesmo tentando criar uma ou outra thread no X. E sim, esses são nosso alvos.

Após identificarmos essas pessoas temos que entender o propósito delas. Se estão atrás das receitas de anúncios das propagandas do youtube, da monetização de visualizações do X, buscando alguma publicidade para o Instagram ou apenas querendo crescer na plataforma para ser famoso e ser a próxima celebridade (e consequentemente lucrar em cima dessa imagem).

Mesmo com planos tão diferentes, todos esses citados no parágrafo anterior tem potencial de crescer e criar conteúdo dentro da Hive. Mas por quê eles sairiam da rede onde já criaram uma base de usuários, para vir aqui na incerteza de um futuro melhor?

Não há outra resposta de curto prazo além do dinheiro. Sim, isso é triste, mas o primeiro passo que brilha os olhos de quem está de fora é a monetização e não o pertencimento de comunidade. Ele não está criando a comunidade dele na web2, ele não entende a importância disso, ele está buscando uma maneira de ser monetizado, e temos que mostrar para ele que aqui não há as barreiras de requisitos que há onde ele está.

Temos que mostrar que aqui ele estará plantando em um campo muito mais produtivo, e que ele dependerá da disciplina e constância e não da sorte do algoritmo. O trabalho será maior, mas a recompensa será maior.

O senso de pertencimento, de comunidade virá depois, quando ele começar a criar e interagir com outros conteúdos, e para isso há a grande necessidade de que haja bons conteúdos e que esses conteúdos estejam sendo bem remunerados. Nenhum novato ficará feliz em ver que sua publicação bem desenvolvida e elaborada rendeu centavos enquanto uma publicação de giveaway rendeu 10 dólares.

Precisamos ser um canal de ajuda também, o usuário precisa entender onde ele pode ir aprender quando sentir que está estagnado na plataforma. E a resposta não pode demorar. Quando ele tem uma duvida com alguma plataforma da web2 um amigo está sempre próximo e pronto para auxilia-lo, temos que ser esse amigo.

Temos que fazer eles se questionarem de porquê estão produzindo conteúdo gratuitamente onde apenas a plataforma web2 está monetizando e lucrando em cima dele, quando ele poderia está fazendo o mesmo conteúdo na web3 e o dinheiro indo inteiramente para ele, sem que ele possa sofrer censura ou perder a sua conta a qualquer momento por alguma nova diretriz que entrou em vigência na última semana sem que ele tenha ficado sabendo.

Faça esse desafio a você mesmo, conte sobre a Hive para 3 amigos, mostre o conteúdo que você está criando. Não faça o convite antes de ele fazer todas as perguntas sobre o novo que você está mostrando para ele. E no final convide-o. Depois faça uma publicação contando como foi a recepção.
