¡Un saludo para todos!

Recientemente estaba limpiando la nevera en mi casa y noté un vaso con un té que había hecho desde hace días, era una infusión de pétalos de cayena con menta y azúcar, sin embargo,  noté que en el fondo del vaso había mucha azúcar, no sé en qué momento agregué tanta, lo cierto es que no quería desperdiciar nada y de inmediato removí la bebida y quedó excesivamente dulce. Botarla no era una opción, debía arreglarla.

Throwing it away was not an option, I had to fix it.

Me puse a buscar en la nevera que tenía para tal fin, encontré una parchita y le agregué la mitad a la infusión que tenía, y como para mí donde hay parchita no puede faltar el limón, tuve que poner también algo de este ingrediente tan utilizado en diversas preparaciones, un poco más de agua y se hizo la magia, salió una bebida refrescante y deliciosa, y me dije que pronto iba a mostrarla por aquí. 

Así que aquí la tengo. Te cuento la cantidad de ingredientes que utilicé esta vez:

- 4 cayenas rojas, ya caídas de la planta pero no marchitas.
- Hojitas de menta. 
- Media parchita.
- Medio limón.
- 2 cucharadas de  azúcar.
- 2 Tazas de agua.

La preparación muy sencilla: 

Abrir las flores, separarlas por pétalos y lavarlos muy bien.

Hervir el agua y agregar los pétalos. Apagar, agregar la menta, tapar y dejar reposar hasta que tome la temperatura ambiente. Me hubiese gustado usar hojas de menta más grandes pero esta vez solo tenía unos brotes de una planta que sembré hace algunos días. 

>Boil the water and add the petals. Turn off, add the mint, cover and let stand until it reaches room temperature. I would have liked to use larger mint leaves but this time I only had some buds from a plant I planted a few days ago.

Colar y enfriar en la nevera. El color de la infusión es morado intenso.

Mezclar muy bien el azúcar con media parchita. Este paso no es estrictamente necesario pues se puede agregar el azúcar o el endulzante de preferencia al final, sin embargo lo hice de esta manera pues me gusta comer parchita pura con azúcar. 

>Mix the sugar very well with half a parchita. This step is not strictly necessary because you can add the sugar or sweetener of preference at the end, however I did it this way because I like to eat pure parchita with sugar.

Esta vez me comí solo una cucharadita.

Cuando la infusión haya alcanzado la temperatura deseada, en mi caso me gusta bien fría, helada, agregar el jugo de medio limón y la parchita previamente endulzada, remover y listo ya tenemos lista nuestra bebida. Al agregar el limón, el color se aclara.

>When the infusion has reached the desired temperature, in my case I like it very cold, icy, add the juice of half a lemon and the previously sweetened parchita, stir and ready we have our drink ready. When the lemon is added, the color becomes lighter.

Recomiendo usar un vaso con tapa para agitarlo muy bien y lograr una mejor integración de los ingredientes.

Disfruté mucho esta bebida, es refrescante y deliciosa, además es relajante porque la cayena y la menta tienen efecto un poco sedante.

Además la bebida en su conjunto esta cargada de vitaminas y minerales de todos estos ingredientes, como la vitamina A y C y el potasio de la parchita y el limón. 

La vitamina A y C también está presente en la flor de cayena y en la menta.
