If you haven't read my post titled "<a href="https://steemit.com/life/@vermillionfox/my-first-con">My first Con!</a>" then please check that out also!</p> <p>Last year I attended my first comic convention which turned out to be life changing! I only wished that our group could've made it to the panels on time and that I could've done more with the cosplay designs. This year I want to channel my inner fairy godmother and bring these designs to LIFE. I've always been a Sailor Moon fan since childhood so it was only right for me to gain inspiration from the original magical girls. </p> <p><img src="http://i67.tinypic.com/67nkie.jpg"/></p> <p>I found this fan art of Luna wearing this adorable dolly girl dress and I knew that I had to attempt to make a cosplay. It will be a challenge for me to tackle a design like this because I'm such a perfectionist. I'll have to remind myself not to obsess over each ruffle as I learning how to construct these pieces for the first time. </p> <p><img src="http://i68.tinypic.com/4h86lj.jpg"/></p> <p>How it's styled: First you'd start with the strappy slip [with the drop ruffle hem] which will be layered under the long sleeve dress. A ruffled chiffon choker sits lightly over the shoulders and will accessorize this look along with a dainty yellow apron. The apron will also drape over the shoulders and will compliment the waistline/silhouette. Vertical ruffles are an option that could be sewn onto the dress and more ribbons to finish this cosplay.</p> <p><img src="http://i65.tinypic.com/ddp461.jpg"/></p> <p>If time permits then I'll also make another Princess Serenity cosplay for my best friend @lonniedi . She is my partner in crime [fighting], a lover of magical girls and all things cute. If you read my post about my very first con then you'll be able to see her in that cosplay.</p> <p><img src="http://i65.tinypic.com/ogcs2v.jpg"/></p> <p>How it's styled: The piece that really stands out in this cosplay design would be the long white sheer chiffon maxi skirt. The yellow ribbons will cinch at the waist and the vertical straps will sit comfortable on the shoulders and across the bust. A structured cap sleeve dress with a ruffled hem will be layered under the skirt. This cosplay will be finished with another ruffle collar [this time in lace] with matching cuffs.</p> <p><img src="http://i64.tinypic.com/b8r1ae.jpg"/></p> <p>https://68.media.tumblr.com/2f802390cd957724c4ff0b10a11d4c63/tumblr_o92zszuQA31ulilmko1_500.gif</p> <p>Hotaru Tomoe (Sailor Saturn) is another character that I'm interested in cosplaying. I love that she's this quiet timid girl but when she regains her memories of being Sailor Saturn-she's capable of bringing destruction to the entire earth. [Badass!] </p> <p><img src="http://i68.tinypic.com/2rdbzar.jpg"/></p> <p><img src="http://i63.tinypic.com/13zvpf9.jpg"/></p> <p>I have the fabric to make this design now but I'm afraid this character would be lost without another character cosplay that would compliment her. </p> <p>Each day I'll pick an item and try to get it sewn before my deadline which is May 26th, the weekend <a href="https://www.animinneapolis.com ">Animinneapolis</a> takes place.
