Sunday, October 13

Zenna awoke to the sound of a radio and Matt poking at the fire, putting more wood on it. He was still naked. And she still wanted him. Not like when she woke up the first time with John… she’d felt awkward. She didn’t feel that way with Matt. She belonged to him – like she’d never belonged to anyone before.
	
“We may have a problem,” he said.
	
“What?”
	
“Yer missin’. Dey will be up here soon, scourin’ da mountain fer ya, eh, – doubly when dey find evidence of yer car. Den dey will find me an’ I will be taken ta jail. My promise ta be a father ta yer baby will be broken. I can’ allow dat.”
	
“So, what will we do?”
	
“I’m callin’ Steve. He will come up an’ take ya into town. He’s found ya – an’ becomes a bit of a hero, eh. He will also help ya ta move out of state somewhere – anywhere...”
	
“I won’t go without you!”
	
“Listen ta me, my lover,” he replied coming closer, holding a radio. “Yer comin’ right back ta me, yah? But first, yer belongings will be stored in Steve’s bunker – wid mine, eh. Da movin’ out of state is jis’ a cover story… ta make people not look fer ya – or be surprised when dey don’ see ya.”
	
Zenna smiled. She knew he was right. She was his now and she needed him. “Come for a few minutes,” she invited, opening the blanket.
	
“In a minute. I have ta call Steve first, eh. Keep quiet so dat yer voice is not broadcast – jis’ in case.”
	
“Okay.”
	
He turned on another radio and made some crow-type noises in some sort of code. He waited a few minutes, then did it a second time.
	
“I guess Steve isn’ listenin’ right now,” Matt said. Just as his fingers touched the button to turn it off again, an answer was heard. “Der he is!” Matt called a couple of times, then turned off the radio. “He will be up later. Did ya need someteen, Zenna?” He looked at her with renewed hunger.
	
All she could do was smile.
	
“Let me tell ya why I’m a fugitive,” he said, as he lay beside her, stroking her body sensually. “It’s not really my fault – dough de law may not agree.”
	
“I know you’re a good guy,” Zenna replied.
	
“Tank ya. I tink so too.” His hand stroked her, fondled her until she could barely stand it, but he just kept going and told her the story. “So, my step-broders an’ step-fader, dey used my car ta commit da burglary. With a balaclava on, dey couldn’ say it was or was not me – jis’ dat it was my car.”
	
“Why didn’t you tell them where you were?”
	
“Because I was at Steve’s pot patch… Yes, I had an alibi… but one dat would convict me of anoder crime – an’ still put me in jail – maybe Steve too. Do ya tink I’m a bad person because I don’ believe in illegal plants?”
	
“No,” Zenna shook her head, absolutely certain that she couldn’t find fault with him.
	
“So, dat’s why Steve works so closely wid me – he feels guilty. He bought a storage container dat was large enough ta keep all my belongings in. From time ta time, he will bring me someteen dat I need, but generally, I do widout. Two more years… den I can be a person again. Steve has anoder parcel of land, on da Lake, which he will let us use – we can build a proper house der. Even wid electricity an’ runnin’ water. Until den, I have ta live in da wilderness, alone… until I met ya. Now, I am no longer alone.” He smiled again, lustful. “We might not be able ta do anyteen tonight if Steve has ta stay, so we’d bedder git anoder dose in now.”
	
Zenna smiled, accepting his kisses first, his beard and whiskers tickling her. His knee nudged her thighs apart then he pushed into her almost as desperately as he had the previous night. “Ahhh!” she cried out in delightful excitement. Half a dozen gentlemanly strokes, then he pounded like a savage into her body.
	
“My mate, my partner!” he breathed, then pounded deeper, harder.
	
He stroked her perfectly, her body happily taking the punishment he inflicted. She would take it forever and ever – so long as the gods did not take him from her!
	
He cried out with primitive satisfaction as he plunged fully into her and stopped, the fluid bursting forth inside her. “Make me a son… or a daughter,” he requested as he rested on her, exhausted. “A different kind of exertion ta dat which I do every day…,” he muttered, as if needing to explain why he was tired. “Tank ya fer comin’ up here… Ya are exactly what I needed in my life.”
	
“I think I needed you as well,” Zenna replied quietly. “Okay, I didn’t need my car falling into the Lake – or to be scared shitless by that phantom! But I wanted someone just like you.”
	
He kissed her again. “Are ya jis’ a dream?”
	
“Only if you are.”
	
“We’d bedder git dressed. It doesn’t take too long ta get here from Steve’s. Dat’s why I’m up dis road. Plus, da phantom makes a good neighbor.”
	
“You don’t want to give him a shock?” Zenna asked with the silly grin produced by good lovemaking.
	
“It will be enough of a shock fer him ta see ya widout knowing how, uh, deeply we’re involved already, eh! It wasn’t even a full day ago when I found ya tryin’ ta walk out of my life.”
	
“I was afraid you’d try to rape me.” 
	
“I didn’ need ta,” he replied. “Didn’ take much ta git ya into my bed wid me, eh.”
	
“Are you calling me ‘loose’?”
	
“An’ I was desperate – especially after seein’ ya… Git dressed before I forgit dat I am worried ‘bout shockin’ Steve, eh!”
	
Zenna grinned and stood, still naked. She dressed. “I need to pee.”
	
“Let me come wid ya. I haven’ looked fer tracks dis mornin’, yet..”
	
“Are you some sort of golden rain pervert?” Zenna asked, noticing that he didn’t turn his back.
	
“No, but I was jis’ tinkin’ dat ya need ta learn ta squat around da edge of da hut as well – add yer scent ta mine. I only put solids in dis hole. Quickly! Steve is here!” A second crow call was heard as Zenna stood and pulled up her pants again.
	
They emerged next to the hut as the familiar hippyish man approached them. Side-by-side, Zenna could see that Mr. Nygaard was like Matt’s twin, the same beard and long hair – except that Steve was as dark as Matt was fair. The man’s astonishment was evident.
	
“Steve, meet Zenna… da woman I have chosen fer my partner.”
	
“Hello, Mr. Nygaard,” Zenna greeted.
