Die EZB behauptet, dass Bitcoin hauptsächlich für kriminelle Transaktionen verwendet werde.

Eine aktuelle Studie des National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) geht von einem Anteil von lediglich 3% an illegalen Transaktionen aus.

Der Großteil der Transaktionen seien legale Überweisungen zum Zwecke des Tradings und der Anlage, heißt es in der Studie.

### Fehler #2: Bitcoin ist nicht als Investment geeignet

Als Grund wird genannt, dass Bitcoin keinen Cash-Flow generiere und pure Spekulation sei.

Trotzdem hat sich Bitcoin und Krypto in den letzten Jahren als neue Anlageform etabliert.

Bitcoin ist sozusagen digitales Gold geworden.

Es stimmt, dass dahinter hauptsächlich Spekulation steht, aber in welcher Asset-Klasse ist das heute nicht der Fall? Eigentlich ist die EZB selbst mit ihrer verantwortungslosen Inflations-Politik genau für das Entstehen dieser Asset-Blasen verantwortlich. Welche Ironie.

### Fehler #3: Blockchains und DLT-Technologien haben bis jetzt wenig Wert für die Gesellschaft geschaffen

Bevor es Bitcoin gegeben hat, haben Banküberweisungen Tage (!) gedauert und brauchen sie großteils auch heute noch. International war und ist es immer noch schwierig und mühsam Geld zu überweisen. Das hat Bitcoin revolutioniert.

Weiters ist es im Angesicht der hohen Inflation (in manchen Ländern Hyperinflation) Gold wert, eine zentralbank-unabhängige Währung zu schaffen, die nicht weginflationiert werden kann und eine fixe Geldmenge hat. Store of Value als Innovation und Gegengewicht zur Übermacht von Zentralbanken.

Und nicht zuletzt hat Bitcoin das Anlegen eines "Bankkontos" / Wallet und das Investieren in digitale Assets dank innovativer FinTech-Startups viel niederschwelliger gemacht.

Früher musste man einer Elite angehören, um in Aktien und Wertpapiere zu investieren. Dank Krypto ist das Investieren in digitale Assets viel zugänglicher geworden. Mit $20 kann man bereits einen Anteil an Bitcoin erwerben.

### Fazit

Nur weil eine betrügerische Internet-Firma pleitegeht, würde niemand auf die Idee kommen der gesamten Internet-Branche die Relevanz abzusprechen. Aber genau das tut die EZB in diesem Artikel. Vielleicht aus Angst, selber dank technologischer Innovation irrelevant zu werden.

### Mistake #1: Bitcoin is rarely used for legal transactions

The ECB claims that Bitcoin is mainly used for criminal transactions.

A recent study by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) suggests that only 3% of transactions are illegal.

The majority of transactions are legal transfers for the purpose of trading and investing, the study states.

### Mistake #2: Bitcoin is not suitable as an investment

The reason given is that Bitcoin does not generate cash flow and is pure speculation.
