Ist BitClout ein Scam? Ich habe das neue Krypto-Social-Media BitClout getestet, aber zögere in CLOUT zu investieren und hier ist die Begründung (5 Rote Flaggen).

### Was ist BitClout?

BitClout ist ein neues Krypto-Social-Media auf einer zweifelhaften Blockchain, das optisch und von den Funktionen her an Twitter / @dbuzz erinnert und das Minten von NFTs direkt in das Interface integriert hat, aber halbherzig ohne Nutzungsrechte.

Das Besondere an BitClout ist, dass jeder User einen eigenen Coin hat, der exponentiell an Wert gewinnt oder verliert, wenn jemand (oder man selber) den Coin kauft oder verkauft. Weiters hat BitClout Schattenprofile von Promis ohne deren Zustimmung angelegt.

Das Konzept ist auf den ersten Blick witzig, aber erinnert auch ein bisschen an ein Ponzi-Scheme mit den exponentiell steigenden und fallenden User-Coin-Preisen.

### Ist BitClout ein Scam?

Viel schwerwiegender sind aber folgende fünf Rote-Flaggen, die mich davon abhalten, das Projekt ernst zu nehmen:

#### #1 Es gab einen großen Ninja/Pre-Mine der Coins.

Laut dem Bericht von @themarkymark sind 8 von 19 Millionen ninja-pre-mined, was ein absolutes No-Go ist. Überhaupt ist das Projekt und die Blockchain wenig transparent.

#### #2 Achtung: Die MarketCap und der Kurs von CLOUT sind total manipuliert.

Seit einigen Monaten ist CLOUT ziemlich konstant um die $100 wert und hat einen angeblichen MarketCap von 1 Milliarde Dollar.

Das wäre fast 6 mal so viel wie der derzeitige Marktführer im Krypto-Social-Media-Bereich Hive, was aber total unrealistisch ist, wenn man bedenkt, was Hive alles zu bieten hat.

#### #3 BitClout wird auf keiner großen Börse gehandelt.

Nächste Red-Flag ist, dass CLOUT derzeit mit einem manipulierten MarketCap von 1 Milliarde laut @coingecko nur auf zwei kleinen Börsen (blockchain.com und AscendEX) gehandelt wird.

#### #4 Die BitClout-Keys sind nicht sicher.

Laut einem Bericht auf Twitter von James Prestwich, einem Ethereum-Core-Dev, lädt BitClout die Keys der User auf einen zentralen API-Server hoch.

#### #5 BitClout ist nicht dezentral.

>BitClout’s model differs from pure proof of work, however, in that it allows node operators to specify a set of trusted block producers [4]

Angeblich setzt BitClout auf trusted Block Producer. Die Behauptung, BitClout wäre eine dezentrale Blockchain lösen sich damit in Luft auf.

### Fazit

Aufgrund der schwerwiegenden Red-Flags würde ich zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt stark von BitClout abraten und es eher als Scam einstufen.

Is BitClout a Scam? I have tested the new crypto social media BitClout, but hesitate to invest in CLOUT and here is why (5 Red Flags).

### What is BitClout?

BitClout is a new crypto social media on a dubious blockchain, reminiscent of Twitter / @dbuzz in terms of its looks and features, with minting NFTs built right into the interface, but half-heartedly without usage rights.

What makes BitClout special is that each user has their own coin, which exponentially gains or loses value when someone (or oneself) buys or sells the coin. Additionally, BitClout has created shadow profiles of celebrities without their consent.

The concept is funny at first glance, but also somewhat reminiscent of a Ponzi scheme with the user coin prices rising and falling exponentially.

### Is BitClout a Scam?

But much more serious are the following five red flags that keep me from taking the project seriously:

#### #1 There was a big ninja/pre-mine of the coins.

According to a report by @themarkymark, 8 out of 19 million CLOUT are ninja / pre-mined, which is an absolute no-go. Over all the project and the blockchain is not very transparent at all.

#### #2 Attention, the MarketCap and the price of CLOUT are totally manipulated.

For several months CLOUT has been worth around $100 pretty consistently and has an alleged MarketCap of $1 billion.

That would be almost 6 times as much as the current crypto social media leader Hive, which is totally unrealistic considering all that Hive has to offer.

#### #3 BitClout is not traded on any major exchange.

Next red flag is that CLOUT is currently trading on only two small exchanges (blockchain.com and AscendEX) with a manipulated MarketCap of 1 billion according to @coingecko.

#### #4 BitClout keys are not secure.

According to a report on Twitter by James Prestwich, an Ethereum core dev, BitClout uploads users' keys to a central API server.

#### #5 BitClout is not decentralized.

>BitClout's model differs from pure proof of work, however, in that it allows node operators to specify a set of trusted block producers [4]

Allegedly, BitClout relies on trusted block producers. The claim that BitClout is a decentralized blockchain thus vanishes into thin air.

### Conclusion

Due to the serious red flags, I would strongly advise against BitClout at this point and rather classify it as a scam.
