My flight to Barcelona could not land, had to cycle in the air for 1 hour, return flight was delayed 2.5 hours because of bad weather. What's your flight experience this summer?
Über Europa gibt es die letzten Tage und Wochen vermehrt Gewitter und dadurch wetter-bedingte Flugverzögerungen, die teilweise heftig ausfallen können.

War am Wochenende in Barcelona, beim Hinflug konnte das Flugzeug nicht landen und musste 1 Stunde in der Luft vor Barcelona kreisen, bis das Flugzeug landen konnte. Während des Flugs gab es auch leichte Turbulenzen.

Und auch der Rückflug war 2.5 stunden verspätet, kam erst um circa 01:10 in Wien an, da es eine Gewittersituation in Norditalien gab, was zu leichten bis mittel starken Turbulenzen geführt hat. Musste sogar meine Cola-Dose und den Becher in der Hand halten wegen der Turbulenzen.

War überrascht, dass es bei Schlechtwetter trotz hoher Flughöhe zu relativ starken Turbulenzen kommen kann.

Außer der Verspätung war aber sonst alles in Ordnung, auch nettes Service diesmal, und beim Rückflug haben wir sogar einen kleinen Snack und Wasser auf Kosten der Airline bekommen (WizzAir).

Over the last few days and weeks, there have been increasing thunderstorms over Europe, causing weather-related flight delays, some of which can be quite severe.

I was in Barcelona over the weekend, and on the outbound flight, the plane was unable to land and had to circle in the air above Barcelona for an hour before it could finally land. There was also slight turbulence during the flight.

The return flight was also delayed by 2.5 hours and did not arrive in Vienna until around 1:10 a.m. due to a thunderstorm in northern Italy, which caused light to moderate turbulence. I even had to hold my Coke can and cup in my hand because of the turbulence.

I was surprised that relatively severe turbulence can occur in bad weather despite the high altitude.

Apart from the delay, everything else was fine, including the service, which was nice this time, and on the return flight we even got a small snack and water at the airline's expense (WizzAir).

I've been there before, thunderstorms can be a serious bumpy experience. Sorry to hear about your delays, but at least you enjoyed the trip. The worst city to land in Thunderstorms for me was El Paso, TX. I remember the pilot making three landing attempts before being able to land, aborting the first two because it was too dangerous!

I don't have any travel experiences this summer. In fact, I haven't traveled in about two years. Money, you know, haha. However, I haven't had any bad experiences flying. I only remember one time when the flight was delayed and I had to wait for more than three hours. But no more than that. I hope i can travel the next year!
