Sam Altman fired as OpenAI CEO, this could be the real reason

Sam Altman wurde heute überraschend als OpenAI CEO gefeuert, ohne klare Angabe von Gründen.

Offiziell heißt es, er solle den Vorstand belogen haben. In den Medien und Twitter/X kursieren alle möglichen Erklärungen und Verschwörungstheorien.

Es könnte sich um einen Streit über die Ausrichtung von OpenAI in Bezug auf die AI-Sicherheit handeln (Alignment, Zensur von AI).

Manche Vorstandsmitglieder würden die kommerzielle Entwicklung von AI-Produkten am liebsten verlangsamen?!

Davor hat es ein Gerücht von Sam Altman gegeben, dass intern bereits AGI erreicht wurde. Dann wurde das auf Reddit von Sam wieder als Meme relativiert.

Alles sehr komisch. Weiters hat Sam Altman auf seinem Twitter-Profil nur einen Judenstern als Profilbeschreibung, was auch sehr seltsam ist. Stellt euch vor ein Tech-CEO hätte zum Beispiel ein religiöses Symbol oder ein "Allahu Akbar" im Profil.

Microsoft ist mit der Entlassung von Altman angeblich auch überrumpelt worden und nur 1 Minute vorher in Kenntnis gesetzt worden. Gerücht.

In der Zwischenzeit ist auch ein weiterer Co-Founder (Greg Brockman) zurückgetreten.

Der wahre Grund könnte aber viel banaler sein. Ich vermute einen internen Machtkampf zwischen Sam Altman und Ilya Sutskever, dem CTO von OpenAI, der sich anscheinend durchgesetzt hat.

Sam Altman was surprisingly fired as OpenAI CEO today, without giving a clear reason.

The official story is that he lied to the board. All sorts of explanations and conspiracy theories are circulating in the media and on Twitter/X.

It could be a dispute about the alignment of OpenAI with regard to AI safety (alignment, censorship of AI).

Some board members would prefer to slow down the commercial development of AI products?!

Before that, there was a rumor from Sam Altman that internally AGI had already been achieved. Then this was called a meme by Sam on Reddit again.

Strange. Furthermore, Sam Altman only has a Jewish star as a profile description on his Twitter profile, which is also very strange. Imagine a tech CEO having a religious symbol or an "Allahu Akbar" on their profile, for example.

Microsoft was also allegedly taken by surprise with the dismissal of Altman and was only informed 1 minute beforehand. Rumor.

Das war höchst wahrscheinlich die Folge eines internen Machtskampfes. Ich bin kein Fan von der Richtung, in die er OpenAI geführt hat (also, das Gegenteil von "Open"). Was man bis jetzt so weiß, waren andere Person in OpenAI auch nicht zufrieden mit seiner Führung (jedoch aus anderen Gründen) und haben ihn daher aus der Firma gekickt.
