Seit letztem Jahr gibt es die Möglichkeit, benutzerfreundliche Bitcoin Lightning-Adressen zu verwenden, die so aussehen wie eine E-Mail-Adresse.

Die Wallet of Satoshi unterstützt sowohl das Senden als auch Empfangen mit LN-Adressen.

In der Wallet of Satoshi bekommt man automatisch eine solche Adresse (username@walletofsatoshi.com) zugewiesen. Man sieht die eigene Adresse, wenn man auf "Receive" tippt.

Möchte man diese ändern, muss man aktuell 3 Voraussetzungen erfüllen:

### 1. Login / Register

Man muss sich mit einer E-Mail-Adresse angemeldet haben. Das ist auch für das Account-Recovery sinnvoll.

### 2. Send or Receive Lightning

Mann muss die Lightning-Funktion mindestens 50x verwendet haben.

### 3. Send or Receive Bitcoin On-Chain

Und die schwierigste Voraussetzung ist, man muss eine Bitcoin on-chain Transaktion mit mindestens 1,000,000 sats (BTC 0.01, das sind im Moment ~ $300) durchgeführt haben.

Das heißt in der Regel wird man sich selber 0.01 Bitcoin überweisen. Allerdings ist hier zu beachten, dass bei der Wallet of Satoshi eine Gebühr von 0.5% sowohl beim Empfangen als auch beim Senden von on-chain Bitcoin anfallen.

Das wären circa $1.5 für den minimalen Betrag, um die LN-Adresse ändern zu können.

Danach kann man die Adresse bis zu 16 mal ändern. Der Username muss übrigens zwischen 4 und 16 Zeichen lang sein und darf nur englischsprachige Buchstaben (a-z) und Ziffern verwenden.

### Fazit

Finde es cool, dass man in der Satoshi-Wallet die Lightning-Adresse anpassen kann, was mir $1.5 wert war. Zu beachten ist, dass bei on-chain Transaktionen eine Gebühr von 0.5% anfallen, was relativ hoch ist. Für größere Bitcoin-Beträge würde ich daher eher eine andere Wallet (non-custodial) empfehlen, aber für kleinere LN-Zahlungen ist die Wallet of Satoshi sehr praktisch. Trade-off.

Since last year there is the possibility to use user-friendly Bitcoin Lightning addresses that look like an email address.

The Wallet of Satoshi supports both sending and receiving with LN addresses.

In the Wallet of Satoshi you are automatically assigned such an address (username@walletofsatoshi.com). You can see your own address when you tap on "Receive".

If you want to change this, you currently have to meet 3 requirements:

### 1. Login / Register

You have to register with your email address. This is also useful for account recovery.

### 2. Send or Receive Lightning

You have to have used the Lightning function 50 times.

### 3. Send or Receive Bitcoin On-Chain

And the most difficult requirement is that you have to have conducted a Bitcoin on-chain transaction of at least 1,000,000 sats (BTC 0.01, which is ~$300 at the moment).

This means that you will usually transfer 0.01 Bitcoin to yourself. However, it should be noted here that the Wallet of Satoshi incurs a fee of 0.5% for both receiving and sending on-chain Bitcoin.

That would be around $1.5 for the minimum amount to be able to change the LN address.

You can then change the address up to 16 times. The username must be between 4 and 16 characters long and may only use English letters (a-z) and numbers.

### Conclusion

I think it's cool that you can customize your Lightning address in the Satoshi wallet, which was worth $1.5 to me. It should be noted that there is a 0.5% fee for on-chain transactions, which is relatively high. For larger bitcoin amounts I would therefore recommend a different wallet (non-custodial), but for smaller LN payments the Wallet of Satoshi is very practical. Trade off.
