Was Nostr von Hive, Brave und Twitter lernen könnte: Nostr braucht automatische Zaps, ein Reward-System.

Im Moment gibt es bei Nostr die Möglichkeit, einzelnen Postings (Notes) oder einem User (Nostriche) ein paar Sats mit Bitcoin Lightning zu spenden. Diese Spenden werden in Nostr auch Zaps genannt.

So cool die Zaps auch sind, man probiert es einmal aus und freut sich, dass man mit Bitcoin jetzt auch Micro-Transaktionen auf Social Media machen kann, aber Zaps sind auf Nostr eher die Ausnahme als die Regel.

Der ganze Prozess dauert ein paar Sekunden, man muss die App wechseln (Lightning Wallet) und dann auf den Transfer warten. Das ist nichts, was man so beiläufig wie einen Like auf Twitter oder ein Upvote auf Hive machen kann.

Sogar Power-User wie Jack Dorsey bekommen auf Nostr pro Posting nur ein paar Zaps. Die meisten User gehen leer aus.

Die Lösung wäre automatische Zaps, so ähnlich wie auf Hive, im Brave Browser oder seit neuestem auch auf Twitter.

Die Idee ist, User auf Nostr zahlen eine kleine monatliche Gebühr (zum Beispiel für den Usernamen, die Verifikation oder zusätzliche Features etc.). Sagen wir 1000 Sats pro Monat. Die Sats werden dann jeden Monat automatisch an die Frontends und Relays, die man verwendet, und an die User, die man likt, ausbezahlt. Geniales Konzept.

Das Verhältnis könnte zum Beispiel 10-10-80 sein, d.h. je 10% für die Frontends und Relays und 80% an die User.

Das wäre so ähnlich wie auf Hive oder im Brave Browser. Und auch Twitter verteilt jetzt einen Teil der Werbeeinnahmen an Power-User und ermöglicht es, einzelnen Usern mit einem bezahlten Abo (Subscription) zu folgen.

Nur User, die sich für automatische Zaps angemeldet haben und die monatliche Gebühr zahlen, können automatische Zaps verdienen. Damit könnte man die Teilnahme incentivieren und auf die Art gleichzeitig das Netzwerk finanzieren.

Nostr needs automatic zaps, a reward system.

At the moment, Nostr offers the possibility to donate a few sats to individual posts (Notes) or to a user (Nostriches) with Bitcoin Lightning. These tips are also called Zaps in Nostr.

As cool as Zaps are, you try it once and are happy that you can now make micro-transactions on social media with Bitcoin, but Zaps are the exception rather than the rule on Nostr.

The whole process takes a few seconds, you have to switch apps (Lightning Wallet) and then wait for the transfer. It's not something you can do as casually as a Like on Twitter or an Upvote on Hive.

Even power users like Jack Dorsey only get a few zaps per post on Nostr. Most users go away empty-handed.

The solution would be automatic zaps, similar to the ones on Hive, Brave Browser, or more recently Twitter.

The idea is, users on Nostr pay a small monthly fee (for example for the username, verification or additional features etc.). Let's say 1000 sats per month. The sats are then paid out automatically each month to the frontends and relays you use, and to the users you like. Powerful concept.

For example, the ratio could be 10-10-80, i.e. 10% each to the frontends and relays and 80% to the users.

That would be similar to what you see on Hive or Brave Browser. Twitter also started to distributes a portion of its ad revenue to power users and allows individual users to offer paid subscriptions (unlockable content).

Only users who have signed up for automatic Zaps and pay the monthly fee can earn automatic Zaps. This could be used to incentivize participation and fund the network at the same time.
