YouTube hat eine "kleine" Policy-Änderung ihres Partner-Programms angekündigt, die darauf abzielt, KI-generierten Content zu demonetarisieren.

Falls ihr YouTube, die letzten Monate verwendet habt, ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit groß, dass ihr bereits mehrere KI-generierte Videos gesehen habt, vielleicht sogar ohne dass es euch sofort aufgefallen wäre.

YouTube-Videos verwenden zunehmend KI-generierte Voice-Overs, sogar ganze Songs sind mittlerweile KI-generiert, wobei auch etabliertere YouTuber KI bereits an mehreren Stellen einsetzen.

YouTube möchte vor allem gegen Channels mit massenweise KI-generierten Content, der einfach zu replizieren ist, aka AI slob, vorgehen, hat aber eine Änderung angekündigt, die sogar sämtlichen KI-generierten Content betreffen könnte.

Die Policy ist nämlich recht vage und verbietet nun "nicht authentischen" (inauthentic) Content.

Mit dieser Änderung könnte sämtlicher KI-generierte Content in Zukunft demonetarisiert werden, was ein bisschen ironisch ist, wenn man bedenkt, dass das Unternehmen hinter YouTube, Google/Alphabet, das KI-Transformer-Modell erfunden hat und auch generative KI-Tools (Gemini & Co.) für den kommerziellen Einsatz anbietet.

Die Geister, die Google/Alphabet rief, werden sie nun nicht mehr los.

Auf der anderen Seite wird der AI-Slob zunehmend zu einem Problem. Immer mehr Videos oder Teile davon sind KI-generiert, oft von zweifelhafter Qualität. Dead Internet Theory.

YouTube has announced a “minor” policy update to its partner program that aims to demonetize AI-generated content.

If you've been using YouTube in recent months, chances are high you've already seen several AI-generated videos, perhaps without even noticing them right away.

YouTube videos are increasingly using AI-generated voiceovers, and even entire songs are now AI-generated, with more established YouTubers also using AI in several places.

YouTube wants to crack down on channels with mass-producecd, repetitive AI-generated content that is easy to replicate, aka AI slob, but has announced a change that could affect all AI-generated content.

The policy is quite vague and now prohibits “inauthentic” content.

With this change, all AI-generated content could be demonetized in the future, which is a bit ironic considering that the company behind YouTube, Google/Alphabet, invented the AI Transformer model and also offers generative AI tools (Gemini & Co.) for commercial use.

The genie that Google/Alphabet let out of the bottle is now impossible to put back in.

On the other hand, AI slob is increasingly becoming a problem. More and more videos or parts thereof are AI-generated, often of dubious quality. Dead Internet Theory.
