Guillermo jamás comprendió como fue que un supuesto hermano llegó a su vida luego de tanto tiempo. Habían pasado al menos 28 años desde que su madre había perdido un embarazo por la violencia ejercida por su padrastro, quien estuvo tras las rejas hasta que no se supo más de él.

Una persona se presentó con el nombre de Ismael en la puerta de su casa. Vestía ropa elegante y un peinado anticuado recubierto en gel. Traía consigo una botella de vino para festejar lo que para él sería un emotivo reencuentro. Nada más lejos de la realidad, pues para su sorpresa, Guillermo se mostró incómodo y dudoso sobre la situación que le acontecía. Aún así, le siguió la corriente.

— Bueno, pasa. ¿O te quedarás ahí tomando frío? Mencionó Guillermo

Ya dentro de la casa comenzaron a charlar sobre distintas cosas mientras sostenían una copa de vino en sus manos, la cual movían en círculos dando apenas pequeños sorbos. Estaba claro que los temas de conversación se estaban acabando y era más que inevitable hablar sobre lo inusual de ese reencuentro. Los motivos por los que estaba allí. ¿Qué buscaba en realidad?

De pronto el ambiente se puso algo tenso cuando comenzaron a hablar del pasado. Ismael mencionó que en realidad su padre no se distanció por un divorcio, ni los dejó a la deriva, sino que había muerto por causas extrañas en donde nunca hubo un culpable.

Un hombre adinerado que se había volcado hacia el alcohol y los malos vicios. Quizás fueron malas elecciones pero no por ello bien merecidas.

En ese momento de desconcierto fue que ambos sacaron una conclusión apresurada y pensaron que aquél padrastro tras las rejas fue quien ideó la atrocidad de quitarse del medio a un hombre que tenía una mala relación matrimonial y aprovechar de las circunstancias para vaya a saber cuál fin.

Mucho se había dicho sobre una muerte en un callejón oscuro y lluvioso, donde solo el alma de un gato nocturno pudo haber sido testigo de ese momento mortal. Los diarios jamás profundizaron sobre aquel hecho, por lo que todo quedó tapado y en el absoluto olvido para todos. Algo muy conveniente.

Un hombre que poseyó riquezas tanto en dinero como en propiedades. Quizás no solo existió un motivo pasional sino más bien había algo más y que no se había acabado. Aún seguía vigente.

Cuando Guillermo menos se lo esperó fue que sintió el calor de su sangre recorriendo su cuerpo. Un disparo en el cuello penetró con suma ferocidad su piel, rasgándola de mala manera, significando una herida de gran gravedad.

Atinó a cubrirse con la mano pero seguía sangrando y llegó un momento en el que caía en un profundo letargo que le producía somnolencia mientras su cuerpo, pálido, frío y transpirado, comenzaba a dar signos de que su muerte estaba aún más cerca.

Irremediablemente y sin más que hacer los vecinos que escucharon el disparo llamaron a la policía sin poder dar con el perpetrador.

La ambulancia se tardó lo suficiente como para llegar demasiado tarde a la escena, cuando Guillermo aún estaba luchando por su vida, buscando respirar una vez más.

Lo último que vislumbró fue la silueta de un supuesto hermano escapando por aquella puerta por la que se lo recibió. Aunque desde un primer momento ese hombre tenia una clara intención. Quedarse con el patrimonio de alguien más quitando del medio a cualquier posible competidor.

Guillermo never understood how it was that a supposed brother came into his life after such a long time. It had been at least 28 years since his mother had lost a pregnancy due to violence by his stepfather, who was behind bars until he was never heard from again.

A person introduced himself by the name of Ismael at the door of his house. He wore elegant clothes and an old-fashioned hairstyle covered in gel. He brought with him a bottle of wine to celebrate what for him would be an emotional reunion. Nothing could have been further from the truth, because to his surprise, Guillermo was uncomfortable and doubtful about the situation that was happening to him. Even so, he went along with it.

- Well, come on in, or will you stay there and get cold? Guillermo mentioned.

Once inside the house they began to chat about different things while holding a glass of wine in their hands, which they moved in circles taking only small sips. It was clear that the topics of conversation were running out and it was more than inevitable to talk about how unusual this reunion was. The reasons why he was there, what was he really looking for?

Suddenly the atmosphere became a bit tense when they started talking about the past. Ismael mentioned that in reality his father had not distanced himself because of a divorce, nor had he left them adrift, but that he had died of strange causes where there was never a guilty party.

A wealthy man who had turned to alcohol and bad vices. Perhaps they were bad choices, but not well deserved.

In that moment of bewilderment was that both drew a hasty conclusion and thought that the stepfather behind bars was the one who devised the atrocity to get rid of a man who had a bad marital relationship and take advantage of the circumstances to who knows what end.

Much had been said about a death in a dark and rainy alley, where only the soul of a nocturnal cat could have witnessed that deadly moment. The newspapers never delved into that fact, so everything was covered up and in absolute oblivion for everyone. Something very convenient.

A man who possessed wealth in both money and property. Perhaps there was not only a motive of passion but rather there was something more and it was not over. It was still going on.

When Guillermo least expected it, he felt the heat of his blood running through his body. A shot in the neck penetrated his skin with extreme ferocity, tearing it badly, signifying a very serious wound.

He tried to cover himself with his hand but he was still bleeding and at some point he fell into a deep lethargy that made him drowsy while his body, pale, cold and sweaty, began to show signs that his death was even closer.

Irremediably and with nothing else to do, the neighbors who heard the shot called the police without being able to find the perpetrator.

The ambulance was late enough to arrive too late to the scene, when Guillermo was still fighting for his life, seeking to breathe once again.

The last thing he glimpsed was the silhouette of a supposed brother escaping through the door through which he was greeted. Although from the very first moment that man had a clear intention. To take someone else's patrimony and get rid of any possible competitor.
