<center><h2>El río en el cielo</h2></center>

El río parecía tener sentimientos. Soñaba con fluir hacia el cielo y danzar junto al movimiento de las nubes. Ya no quería ver el reflejo del cielo en sus aguas; quería estar allí arriba, yendo libremente hacia todas partes, rompiendo con la monotonía de estar atrapado en su cauce y sus corrientes, viajando una y otra vez por las regiones montañosas por toda la eternidad.

Una tarde un grupo había salido de excursión en un bongo. El río parecía bravo, al punto que arrastró con fuerza un tronco que derribó por completo a los pasajeros. Todos sabían nadar, a excepción de una mujer que se había dejado llevar a la suerte de su destino. Mientras los demás habían logrado nadar hasta la orilla, ella estaba muriendo tras sumergirse una y otra vez haciendo todo tipo de movimientos para poder respirar aunque sea una gota de aire.

Los compañeros de viaje quedaron asombrados cuando vieron que el río devolvió a la mujer prácticamente al mismo lugar en donde ellos estaban. Quizás unos pocos metros más allá, pero lo cierto es que había ocurrido un milagro. Como si el propio río hubiera intentado de alguna forma salvarle la vida a la mujer.

La mujer supo en ese preciso momento que no era el momento de irse de este mundo, pero comenzó a preguntarse a sí misma sobre la razón por la cual seguía viva. Había estado por mucho tiempo pensando en quitarse la vida, ocultando estos terribles deseos en su mente.

Ahora sabía que tenía mucho por qué vivir. Sus compañeros la atendieron como si fuese alguien de su familia más cercana, preocupándose totalmente por ella. Quería vivir, pero también necesitaba respuestas sobre por qué seguía con vida, si había menospreciado por mucho su existencia, dejándose a la deriva de las fuerzas del río.

Desde entonces comenzó a visitar todas las tardes el río que le salvó la vida. Le habló por mucho tiempo esperando alguna respuesta. Le agradeció incesantemente lo que había hecho por ella. Fue cuando notó su reflejo en el río, esta vez en flotando sobre aguas quietas. En sus ojos también se veía el reflejo del río, y entre ambos esa bella conexión.

Por semanas estuvieron compartiendo el tiempo, intercambiando los males que parecían sanar a la vez que más estaban juntos; ella desahogándose frente al río, y él agitando sus aguas, como salpicando gotas de llanto. Hasta que un día ocurrió lo inesperado...

La mujer fue a visitar el río pero parecía estarse secando rápidamente. Cada día parecía bajar más y temía que el lugar que tanto quería se quedara seco por completo. No lo dudó ni por un instante y tomó un frasco de vidrio en el que llenó con agua del río.

Por dentro la mujer sentía lo que el río sufría. Sabía que se estaba consumiendo por no ver más allá de lo conocido, de no experimentar nada nuevo. En el fondo eran muy similares.

Un día en que una aparente sequía llegaba decidió escalar una de las montañas. Llevó en la mochila el frasco llenado con agua del río y lo cargó durante todo un frenético viaje; una aventura sin igual llena de momentos tensos pero también grandiosos.

En lo alto de aquella montaña pasaban unas nubes blancas, denotando que ya estaban en lo más alto de la cúspide; abrió la tapa y dejó verter el agua en uno de los orificios de esa montaña. El río en su versión más simple, por fin pudo sentirse libre, sintiéndose acariciado por el viento de la inmensidad del cielo, junto a una mujer completamente llena de vida.

The river seemed to have feelings. I dreamed of flowing into the sky and dancing along with the movement of the clouds. I no longer wanted to see the reflection of the sky in its waters; I wanted to be up there, going freely everywhere, breaking the monotony of being trapped in its course and currents, traveling again and again through the mountainous regions for all eternity.

One afternoon a group had gone out for an excursion in a bongo. The river seemed rough, to the point that it forcefully dragged a log that completely knocked down the passengers. They all knew how to swim, except for one woman who had let herself be carried away by the fate of her destiny. While the others had managed to swim to shore, she was dying after submerging again and again making all kinds of movements to be able to breathe even a drop of air.

The fellow travelers were astonished when they saw that the river returned the woman to practically the same place where they were. Perhaps a few meters further, but the truth is that a miracle had occurred. As if the river itself had somehow tried to save the woman's life.

The woman knew at that precise moment that it was not the time to leave this world, but she began to question herself as to why she was still alive. She had long been thinking about taking her own life, hiding these terrible desires in her mind.

Now she knew she had a lot to live for. Her companions cared for her as if she were one of their closest family, caring totally for her. She wanted to live, but she also needed answers as to why she was still alive, if she had so greatly disregarded her existence, leaving herself adrift to the forces of the river.

From then on she began to visit every evening the river that saved her life. He spoke to it for a long time waiting for some answer. She thanked it incessantly for what it had done for her. It was when she noticed her reflection in the river, this time floating on still water. In his eyes she also saw the reflection of the river, and between the two of them that beautiful connection.

For weeks they were sharing their time, exchanging the ills that seemed to heal the more they were together; she unburdening herself in front of the river, and he stirring its waters, as if splashing drops of tears. Until one day the unexpected happened....

The woman went to visit the river but it seemed to be drying up fast. Every day it seemed to get lower and lower and she feared that the place she loved so much would dry up completely. She didn't hesitate for a moment and took a glass jar in which she filled with water from the river.

Inside the woman felt what the river was suffering. She knew she was wasting away from not seeing beyond the familiar, from not experiencing anything new. Deep down they were very similar.

One day when an apparent drought was coming she decided to climb one of the mountains. He carried the flask filled with water from the river in his backpack and carried it for a whole frantic journey; an unparalleled adventure full of tense but also great moments.

At the top of that mountain white clouds were passing by, denoting that they were already at the top of the peak; he opened the lid and let the water pour into one of the holes of that mountain. The river in its simplest version could finally feel free, feeling caressed by the wind of the immensity of the sky, next to a woman completely full of life.
