Changes to how VIMM publishes live streams on Hive

Hey there! It's @ddrfr33k and @chiren with an update that's been a long time coming.  We've both been really, really busy. That happens when you're busy people like us!  Anyhoo, enough blabber, let's dive in!

First order of business, is the Gem conversion! A lot of you have already noticed that you can convert your gems and have done so. That's awesome! We appreciate the devotion to staying on top of things.  For everyone else, we're starting a 90 day timer to convert your remaining Gems. On Sunday, January 31st, 2021, we will shut off the gem conversion system and will only use our new Gems going forward.  If you're holding gems by that point, you're holding on to a relic.  Good for you, but...well, you do you. You won't be able to use them on our site after that.

# But here's the big news! We're changing our posting system!

Yup. That's a thing.

Here's the deal: We've noticed that our system for going live is horribly inefficient. Not only that, it's prone to breaking, causing problems for people. This was made worse by the last hard fork.  This is why you guys were seeing so many problems with upvoting streams and the auto-posting getting disabled.  So! To remedy this, we got a fix for ya!

Starting Wednesday, November 11, you will see this button on your dashboard.  If you go live, you'll need to push that button to generate a post.  One post per stream, and you can edit the post from your dashboard. While you're live. Yeah, we're making some big changes!

For streams that broadcast 24/7, we will have a way to schedule posts in the same update.  That way, when you're live, you can queue up the posts that need to go live for each segment of your show.

As mentioned above, this change will take effect on Wednesday, November 11.  Look forward to it!  We've also got some other huge quality of life updates coming, and some tweaks to the way Vimm works.  I can't tell you much more now without @chiren trying to throttle my neck, but what I can tell you is that it's going to make our community much, much stronger.  Look forward to it!
