The amazing team at @leofinance released the latest version of Hivestats (V5) and many things have been written about it. I checked out some of the articles which were well articulate and easy to understand. I am not a fan of repeating the things that have already been told. I spend some time pondering on what could be done with the project and potentially even generate income for all of us in this community. 

I don't possess all the answers and I certainly don't posses a crystal ball or some sense of clairvoyance. What I can do is be clever and think smart. Before we get there, let us take a look at the best things about Hivestats.

# Things That Made A Difference
The current version of Hivestats does the job of several other tools I have occasionally used to get a better idea regarding my performance on HIVE. My engagement with the community is does not have the financial incentives front and center. The earnings are more of a perk for being part of the greatest massive online community on the planet There are many places with great people I can learn from and spend time with. HIVE has the highest number of such individuals at once place.

### Speed and Responsiveness
Everything works the moment you click on them. V1 to V3 definitely took some time load and provide the statistics. Sometimes it was just too much of a wait for a modern experience. This was on my laptop; mobile was probably worse. 

### Good First Impressions To The Ecosystem (With Dark Mode)

It is great to have introduced to the rest of LEO DAPPs from the top bar along with a collection of interesting articles. They are good reads to engross the visitor in the blogging interface and all the knowledge it has to offer. 

### Excellent Hierarchy of Information 
It is best to have a good flow in information. __Most of us already know what to look for in statistics. New users may not even have any idea about many of the aspects of HIVE and its second layers.__ Allowing the users to explore and discover at their own pace what a BeeSwap liquidity pool is a great idea.

# The Future Inspired By @steemchiller
I honestly wish he continued to be a part of HIVE. He was a great developer and did many great things for the community while there was only one good social media blockchain called STEEM.

Take a look at all the features presented there. Not all of them are equally in demand. That is when prioritizing comes into play. You can explore yourself and think of __ways you can improve these features or at least make them have a better UI/UX.__

### Statistics for Games and Layer 1 + 2
1. We can have statistics provided for HIVE itself such as active users, votes, comments, curation,__inflation and tokenomics__ and more
2. Easily accessible data into various games like @dcitygame @risingstargame and others. @splinterlands already have different services providing insights. The most underrated among them is https://www.splintercards.com developed by @tehox

3. Statistics for specific communities will be a great addiction. Tags such as #spt #cinetv #oneup #stem #sportstalk focus on specific niches and there could be some valuable insights that can be found when pulling up some charts and graphs for these communities. There is a good chance that there could be another LEO-esque community that will stand up on their own apart from the base layer that is HIVE.

# Monetization
If there is money to be made and even if part of the profit get used to burn LEO, that is a very positive thing. As more users join in, the little bits can add up to a large ocean. 

__Getting communities to pay with LEO in order to display their own extended stats on HiveStats could be a good idea.__

If the performance will not be impacted, we can have some ads that burn LEO. What Brave is doing is a great place for inspiration. We already have some promotions on https://leofinance.io Why not bring it for HiveStats.

### The Second Mover Advantage

Fast following second movers in a market is quite underrated IMO. They can take a look at all the things the pioneers has tried to do, learn from them, pick the best out of them and do them better and prosper as a company/project. We already have had many smart people develop many statistics tools for HIVE. Why try so hard to come up with something nobody has come up with when you can simply take inspiration and create a more refined and better integrated version of them. Lately Apple Inc has been doing that a lot with their iPhones. AirTags are an even better example.
