El mundial de futbol más polémico de la historia ya ha iniciado y con él, la emoción y la fiesta futbolística también. Dejando a un lado todo lo negativo, creo que este tipo de eventos deportivos son la oportunidad perfecta para dejar las diferencias atrás.

Qatar no ha sido la excepción, tomando en cuenta la cultura tan estricta que tiene, en la cual, las mujeres no tienen ni voz ni voto, y las múltiples acusaciones de violación de los derechos humanos, el simple hecho de que permita a millones de turistas de cualquier edad, género, raza y religión, visitar sus tierras, por muy pequeño que parezca, es un logro. Estoy segura que este evento será la ventana donde muchas más puertas de oportunidades e inclusión se empezarán a abrir, y una visión nueva de libertad y justicia se sembrará sobre sus habitantes.

Ahora con la ceremonia de inauguración me parece increíble que hasta la fecha no haya un sitio en internet donde pueda verlo completo, o al menos uno de fácil acceso como YouTube. Como estaba trabajando no pude verlo en vivo, sino, fragmentada en los vídeos oficiales de la FIFA. Me parece interesante como la tendencia de apostar a la nostalgia está tan presente actualmente, no solo en las películas con reboots, remake o live actions, sino que también en el futbol lo usaron, al conmemorar las mejores canciones de todos los mundiales y todas las mascotas que han tenido, quienes les dieron la bienvenida a La'ebb, la mascota de este mundial.

El tan esperado primer partido inició, y aunque las redes estuvieron inundadas de polémicas por la noticia que se filtró, la cual acusaba a la selección de Qatar de tratar de comprar los resultados, pienso que a veces hay cosas que no se pueden comprar y el fútbol se trata de eso: pasión.

Este primer encuentro es histórico por dos principales razones: La primera es que el equipo de Qatar tuvo 12 años para prepararse, (ya que desde el 2010 se conocía que este país sería la sede del mundial 2022) y aún así no estuvo a la altura para poder ganarle a Ecuador. Lo que me lleva al segundo motivo histórico y es que, por primera vez, en la historia de un mundial de fútbol, la selección anfitriona pierde en su inauguración.

Al parecer aún siendo este el mundial de fútbol más tecnológico de todos, al contar con el VAR y pelotas inteligentes que miden la velocidad y fuerza con que fue pateada el balón, aún así, existe este tipo de corrupciones prehistóricas. Lo positivo es que ahora es mucho más difícil hacer trampa, con tantas cámaras grabando al mismo tiempo y los aparatos electrónicos convirtiéndose en nuestros aliados, jueces y verdugos a la vez.

Estoy segura que sin importar el resultado Qatar será un mundial muy memorable y especial, porque es el último que reunirá a estrellas del fútbol como Messi y Cristiano, quienes se han convertido en las leyendas de este deporte en la última década.

Now with the opening ceremony I find it amazing that to date there is no website where I can watch it in full, or at least an easily accessible one like YouTube. As I was working I was not able to watch it live, but, fragmented in the official FIFA videos. I find it interesting how the trend of betting on nostalgia is so present nowadays, not only in movies with reboots, remakes or live actions, but also in soccer they used it, by commemorating the best songs of all the World Cups and all the mascots they have had, who welcomed La'ebb, the mascot of this World Cup.
