***Hi fellow Mages!***
Here is your boy VjekIch with another post about Splinterlands. It is a coincidence that it is another Fire Splinter post even though that is my least played splinter. But I am going through the new cards while trying to build my **cheap Diamond decks** and now and then I stumble upon interesting things that I love to share with the community.
With the new Riftwatchers expansion, there were announced 3 new cards with stun in the Fire splinter. My eye caught this detail and I noticed that you could build a decent team only with Stun monsters. Of course, I will go through other stun cards as well, but only through those that I can afford. Cards that are above my pay level are probably above the pay level of many other players. And those with way higher pay level don't have to pick which cards they will buy, they just buy everything.
**So, let's get started!**
[Septic Slime](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=481&gold=false&edition=8&tab=stats) - at first I was like, o that is a very mana-expensive **Cerberus** but it seems that this card is not that bad after all. 1 speed is a bit of a problem, of course, if you don't play in the **Reverse Speed** ruleset or if you play with the **Jacek** summoner. Level 6 is the spot where you want this guy as he gets Heal ability that will increase his chances to survive for a bit longer. We like it because of **Stun** ability. Many times it may not hit your opponent at all, but at least it has **True Strike** at max level which helps a lot.

[Technowizologist ](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=483&gold=false&edition=8&tab=stats) - an interesting card that has 2 magic damage in the Bronze league with Stun ability and all that for 6 mana is quite nice. Another nice thing that I like is **Fury** ability that will deal double damage to monsters with **Taunt**. Against some monsters that are amazing, but against others, like Mycelic Slipspawn this is not that good because of Forcefield ability. It means that damage will be reduced to 1. So it is very situational, but Stun ability is what we really like here. It is not an amazing card, but it is a good one.

[Mordeus](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=484&gold=false&edition=8&tab=stats) - one of my favorite cards in the Riftwatchers expansion. I think that he is exactly what Fire Splinter needed. That one opportunity card will work wonders with **Jacek**. Stun ability on this one is amazing in case that 6 damage is not enough. On top of that Piercing, either from Jacek or from an ability that he gets on MAX level is amazing as it prevents that attack from being wasted on small amounts of armor. It often kills the target in one shot. His weakness is, ironically, Opportunity in your opponent's team. He will get killed by **Lira the Dark**, **Deeplurker**, or **Dragon Jumper**. That's why I plan to protect my **Mordeus** with **Magnor**. Of course, this is planned only for high-mana matches but there are many at the moment due to changes that came with Riftwatchers, even in the Bronze league.

[Djinn Inferni](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=406&gold=false&edition=7&tab=stats) - now that is a Chaos Legion card that is not played that often. Same with **Mordeus**, Djinn Inferni is weak against **Opportunity** ability so some kind of protection is certainly needed. Stun is amazing on this guy and magic attack is even better as it means that its attacks will go through that armor. With all those big cards that were just introduced, **Giant Killer** is an amazing ability and it means that Djinn Inferni will deal 8 damage to big monsters which makes him even better. He certainly got a buff with the new expansion and should not be overlooked anymore.

[Spark Pixies](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=163&gold=false&edition=4&tab=stats) - due to its price this is a card that you will probably rent and not buy. It is a very fast card with the Stun ability and Flying which means it could even dodge some attacks in the last spot. You need at least level 5 but level 6 would be even better for that extra damage. Played with Jacek this is a real threat as you never know where its attack will land.

[Lava Launcher](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=333&gold=false&edition=3&tab=stats) - amazing reward card that you can get for a 2 USD at level 4. It is a card that you could use on the second spot due to its **Close Range** ability. Sometimes I use this guy on the last spot due to his armor that will protect it from a few hits. If you are building a new team this guy is a no-brainer as damage is excellent and it can fill your gaps in the team.
## Knock-out
Now that we went through all the stunners in Fire Splinter(well almost all) let's see what can we do to exploit that ability even more. First, notice that all this is planned for the Gold league and beyond. This will not work in the Silver league so that that into consideration when planning your teams.
The first card that I like is [Scavo Firebolt](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=400&gold=false&edition=7&tab=stats). He gets his Knock-Out ability in the Gold league and he can hit really hard, with 6 damage to the stunned target. [Pyromancer](https://splinterlands.com/?p=card_details&id=228&gold=false&edition=3&tab=market) could be a real king of this setup. With Jacek and Scatter, you will land stuns all over the place. And then Pyromancer can trigger his Knock-Out on 3 targets at once. Wild right? That means he can deal 14 damage with one hit. If you add Piercing to that. It looks really **SCARY** but also **FUN** if that is your team.
## Summary
The **Fire Stun team** could be really fun and maybe even effective. It certainly needs some testing from my side and how often you could actually play it because you need quite a few mana to get all the crucial cards in there. It means your opponent will have also quite a few good cards that could take out your cards before you manage to stun the enemy team.
