# Chapitre 15 : L’Ennemi Invisible
(Où personne ne le voit, mais tout le monde panique quand même.)

L’OMBRE QUI N’AVAIT PAS DE PATTES
Depuis l’arrestation du Rumeron, une étrange accalmie planait sur la forêt.

Trop étrange.

Castagnor en avait des frissons dans les moustaches.
— "C’est calme... Trop calme... Et j’ai pas confiance dans le calme."

Pluminette, qui tournoyait au-dessus, répondit :
— "C’est pas du calme, c’est de la terreur camouflée. L’ennemi est là. Partout. Et nulle part."

— "Comme le beurre de gland dans les crêpes de Jean-Rasoir," ajouta Speedo, très sérieux.

— "Exactement," grogna Belladonna. "Invisible, mais t’as mal au ventre après."

DES SIGNES… MAIS PAS DE SENS
Tout devint bizarre.

Les fourmis défilaient à reculons.
Les grenouilles restaient muettes (du jamais-vu).
Même Jean-Rasoir... lisait un livre.

— "C’est un manuel de camouflage stratégique !" cria-t-il en sursautant.

Les arbres semblaient chuchoter.
Une mousse sentait la peur.
Et surtout, un vent sans direction soufflait en spirale, en murmurant :

"il vient… il vient… il s’approche… ou peut-être pas…"

LE CONSEIL DU FLIP
Un conseil de crise fut convoqué au fond d’une souche, sous surveillance totale (hérissons sentinelles, lucioles de garde, un champignon filtrant les mensonges).

Chiffon, le taupe espion, résuma la situation :

— "Mes taupes-contacts ont capté une entité inconnue. Pas vue. Pas entendue. Pas sentie. Mais tout le monde en parle."

— "Donc un influenceur ?" demanda Pluminette.

— "Non. Pire. Un Stratégiste Invisible. Il infiltre les esprits. Seme le doute. Il a peut-être déjà infecté ce conseil."

Silence.

Puis… Belladonna pointa une patte vers Speedo :

— "Et si c’était l’escargot ?"

— "Encore ?" pleura Speedo.

LE PLAN ANTI-INVISIBLE
Castagnor prit une décision radicale :
Organiser une chasse à l’invisible.

Chaque animal devait :

Porter une clochette (même les hiboux – ce fut très gênant).

Se signaler toutes les 30 minutes par un mot code ("Noisette !").

Se faire sniffer par un blaireau certifié (autorité suprême en odeurs étranges).

Jean-Rasoir proposa aussi de mettre le feu à l’air :
— "Si l’invisible est dans l’air… on brûle l’air !"

Personne n’osa répondre.

LE PREMIER CONTACT (OU PAS)
Un soir, une ombre passa.
Ni forme. Ni son. Juste une impression.

Un renard perdit connaissance.
Un arbre se mit à pleurer de la sève noire.
Speedo… fit un looping.

Et une voix, sourde et grave, vibra dans les feuillages :

"Je ne suis pas là. Mais vous me verrez tomber."

Puis plus rien.

Castagnor, blême, déclara :
— "On a un adversaire... spectral. Et peut-être poétique."

FIN D’UN CHAPITRE QUI FOUT LES BOULES
La forêt ne dormait plus.
Même les chauves-souris prenaient du café.

Belladonna tailla un poignard en brindille.
Jean-Rasoir construisit une torche de 2 mètres.
Speedo… rédigea son testament (sur une feuille de salade).

Castagnor se leva au sommet d’un tronc, regarda l’horizon invisible, et murmura :

— "L’ennemi arrive. Et il n’a pas de visage."

Chapter 15: The Invisible Enemy
(In which nobody sees it, but everyone panics anyway.)

THE SHADOW WITH NO PAWS
Since the arrest of the Rumeron, an eerie calm had spread over the forest.

Too eerie.

Castagnor’s whiskers twitched with unease.
— “It’s quiet... Too quiet... And I don’t trust quiet.”

Pluminette, circling above, cawed:
— “That’s not calm, that’s panic in disguise. The enemy’s here. Everywhere. And nowhere.”

— “Like acorn butter in Jean-Rasoir’s pancakes,” added Speedo, dead serious.

— “Exactly,” grunted Belladonna. “Invisible, but you get a stomachache after.”

SIGNS… WITHOUT SENSE
Everything got weird.

Ants marched backward.
Frogs stayed silent (which was unheard of).
Even Jean-Rasoir… was reading a book.

— “It’s a manual on strategic camouflage!” he shouted when startled.

The trees seemed to whisper.
Some moss smelled like fear.
And worst of all, a directionless wind spiraled through the woods, murmuring:

“he comes… he comes… or maybe not…”

THE PANIC COUNCIL
A crisis meeting was called inside a hollow stump, under heavy surveillance (hedgehog sentinels, firefly guards, a mushroom that sniffed out lies).

Chiffon, the mole-spy, briefed them:

— “My mole-contacts have picked up traces of an unknown entity. Not seen. Not heard. Not smelled. But everyone’s talking about it.”

— “So... an influencer?” asked Pluminette.

— “Worse. An Invisible Strategist. He invades minds. Spreads doubt. He might’ve already infiltrated this council.”

Silence.

Then… Belladonna pointed at Speedo:

— “What if it’s the snail?”

— “Again?” sobbed Speedo.

THE ANTI-INVISIBLE PLAN
Castagnor made a bold decision:
A hunt for the invisible.

Every animal had to:

Wear a bell (even owls – it was awkward).

Shout a codeword every 30 minutes (“Acorn!”).

Get sniffed by a certified badger (the forest’s leading scent authority).

Jean-Rasoir also proposed setting the air on fire:
— “If the enemy is in the air… we burn the air!”

No one dared respond.

FIRST CONTACT (MAYBE)
One night, a shadow passed.
No shape. No sound. Just… an impression.

A fox fainted.
A tree wept black sap.
Speedo… did a full somersault.

And a deep, eerie voice echoed through the leaves:

“I’m not here. But you’ll see me fall.”

Then nothing.

Castagnor, pale, muttered:
— “We’ve got a spectral enemy. And possibly a poetic one.”

END OF A DEEPLY UNSETTLING CHAPTER
The forest no longer slept.
Even bats drank coffee now.

Belladonna carved a twig into a dagger.
Jean-Rasoir built a two-meter torch.
Speedo… wrote his will (on a lettuce leaf).

Castagnor climbed atop a stump, gazed into the invisible horizon, and whispered:

— “The enemy is coming. And it has no face.”
