Hey everyone, I'm currently isolating my online accounts by using a different emails for each set of services, for example 2 emails for school and work, 2 emails for personal use, and 2 secondary emails
but now considering flushing all those accounts, and using a new, single email with aliases for each account
would that be better privacy/security wise? or is my original approach better?
it gets quite cumbersome keeping up with 6 different emails, each with their set of different accounts

Just my opinion, but in theory I would have thought multiple email addresses is technically the better option, since multiple data leaks (or data sold etc) with the same email address could be used to link together more pieces of information on you. If you're using aliases it's a reasonable compromise depending upon your mail provider (if it's your own domain then you're potentially giving that info away). You can stop a bit of spam this way, but there's still going to be an association. Managing that many email addresses is a bit of a pain so I don't really know anyone that does this realistically. I have a system whereby I have a set of email addresses for different types of accounts. Probably a more ideal solution is an email provider that allows you to manage multiple email addresses under the same account under a shared inbox
