**I waste a lot of time searching the internet for a computer (laptop) for my youngest.**
I myself haven't been using one for years. The youngest child received one as a present from school for being the best student. Of course, this laptop, an HP, was broken. I bought a different battery and we tried every trick mentioned on the internet we could think of but if it starts at all it can only be with the adapter. It feels bitter to receive a present like this. After we contacted a teacher I went back to the old school twice. The principal said the one who gave it, whoever that may be, didn't respond so she couldn't do anything. Just for your information, a new battery did cost me over 70 euros. It worked till it was empty and next couldn't charge. I was allowed to send it back, received a bit of money as a refund but altogether it cost me money, time, energy, stress not to mention all the frustration it gave my child. I, we, would never have bought this HP thing and never an expensive item without a warranty. According to a computer shop there should be a warranty on it but it came without any papers, a bill so my guess is the 'generous' sponsor gave a broken laptop, was cheered at (same if it comes to the school) and they left us in the rain.
While struggling with this d**m** laptop which refuses to start at times or closes down each time it started up, I read all kinds of info about other laptops.
Long story short most HP owners have the same issue with their laptop's battery.
Laptops or notebooks are more like a bigger phones these days which means built to throw away.
You can forget about a cd/DVD player (negative)
They are not cheaper and faster than in the old days if you consider they are made out of plastic and there's hardly anything that you can call quality plus USB, card readers, adapters, cd/DVD readers/players are history.
It feels like buying a bike today. They charge you 2000 euros but it comes without a light and all the extras it came within the old days and you have to consider yourself lucky if the brakes work for the next three months and it won't rust away within a month's time.

While we are forced to have a computer/laptop call it a notebook if you like by schools and government and so on because we are forced into a digital life at the same time I wonder if it's worth the investment.
I mean be honest: worldwide the globalists complain about all the energy we use with all our smart whatever we buy items but is it fair to blame the people for it? We have a lack of electricity, the field of wind turbines but at the same time, the electric car is promoted (not too long ago it was diesel)! Public transport is very expensive and although the city of Arnhem has the trolley (electric busses) no way public transport is cheaper or promoted or turns out to be better or the air is more healthy. It feels like one big hoax, we are fooled in every way. We pay for all the modern nonsense which is fabricated in such a bad way you it won't last long. If it comes to clothes it's no different. Was your new pullover twice and it looks old already.
I noticed for the price I can afford for a notebook (or laptop) the device isn't very modern.
It feels as if I'm 12 years back in time. How come these slow things with a lack of RAM and memory are still sold? What is the idea behind it if you can never upgrade a windows of whatever is used version?
It's possible to buy it without windows but if there's no (easy) way to install windows or Linux to make it operable I already foresee the stress it will give my children, especially with a slow internet connection or one that isn't steady or gone each time you need it.
Surprisingly enough I notice that the EU or Europe isn't one big family or country.
There's a huge price difference between the different countries and it's the same if it comes to software (why if you need to download it anyway?)
Well, I still have time to find the birthday present plus time to save. Fingers crossed I find something that is less disappointing than the worst present a school ever gave to its best student!
Brands we would like to give a chance instead of HP are Acer and Lenovo. If you have something good or better in mind please let me know (HP, Compaq, Fujitsu is out of the question, no game computer is needed and we don't care about the weight).
**Is it still worth buying a laptop if we soon will be without electricity?**
A lawyer said the next winter coming up will be hard. No food, no electricity, lockdowns, working at home, most likely a few hours power for the mass a day. There seems to be a lack of paper and the lack of gas and electricity is a fact. The governments refused to be prepared. They started this war and know many will die and get away with it. Everyone will blame Russia while the governments laugh about the stupid mass. By the way, if you have the book, predictions, of Nostradamus read it! The predictions of this Frenchman of about 500 years ago are no hoax but came true and no factchecker can deny that.
