Imagine, you are falling or already down in the deepest hole and someone kicks you, literally or a huge foot kicks you. Will that be of any help? I doubt it it. Expressions we use are strange if you think about it or take them literally. They are based on somethome life experience. It can be good if someone drags you out of bed if you are down as in depressed "kicks your arse" to motivate you (read: force) to be active again) but if you are financially at the end, down. it will not help if the back gives you an extra kick or your family and friends do (no I don't tell them to save your butt and pay your bills since learning how to budget is something we all should. There are plenty of ways we can give support, advice, motivate without using a foot to kick. 
A kick can it be to be kicked but if that's the case it's better to find someone who likes this as much as you do. Don't forget the safety word before a foot crushes you.
