REDIRECTED LIFE: Amazing Adjustments That Have Happened In My Life Since I Found Steemit

I am on my 18th day in Steemit and I am still on a high except for the 2 days I was out of network coverage. As of this writing, I have made 530 posts –most of which are personalized comments, a few travel blogs, cat posts and travel photos. No, I don’t spam, because I sincerely enjoy the conversations within each posts. I have spent a lot of sleepless nights on Steemit, learning about it and exploring it. I know that I am very young in my Steemit life but I have made a few adjustments in the past weeks.

### From shutting my door to opening new doors

2017 was a low period in my life and I have stopped talking to most people. I was mostly alone with most of my time spent on thinking how to change the course of my life. Then I got into cryptocurrencies and spent more time alone studying and learning about it. My research led me to Steemit which got me so curious. I have deactivated my social media accounts to get rid of the negativities. Steemit, though another social media platform, seem to have more positive energy than any other platforms I’ve seen.

I signed up and found that you **need to talk to a lot of people**. I don’t have a problem talking to people online and to people who do not know me. I have that struggle with the people around me. And so I did online and I genuinely enjoyed it. It made me redirect my feelings of loneliness to this activity. I did this non-stop especially during the holiday break.

Then on New Year’s Eve , I decided to go out with my housemate to a hostel party nearby. It’s my first time to spend the New Year in Makati, Philippines (this is where I work) because I initially had no plans of celebrating. It was unlike my previous New Years’ celebrated on an island or another country. I pictured myself just reading a book and probably asleep after midnight. What surprised me is that I did not force myself to go out and not just because of the festive mood. Even better, I stayed up with the new friends I just met until the sun rose, opposite to what I imagined myself to be in. One person I just met told me that he felt a positive and friendly vibe in me. Far from what people would feel around me in the previous months.

I believe my activities in Steemit, because they were all positive, transformed my negative vibe to a positive one. I am not saying it worked like magic but it did have an impact in my social life in real life as well. I know that Steemit did not solve my inner issues but the activities have helped me get into a new direction – and a more **positive route**.

### From being disorganized to becoming a planner

This is something I am still working on. I just came back to work yesterday and I realized the need to fit my Steemit activities on a workday. I can be consistent and produce good content but not have enough sleep every day. This is something we all have to be careful of and we need to take care of our health too even if we are so excited about our projects. I cannot last long if I will always do this and only get a few hours of sleep. With this, I am committing to using my time more wisely.

Unlike other social media platforms where you can post anything, Steemit values good content more. I am **writing down my plan and the ideas** for the next posts to ensure that my blogs would somehow have a structure. I am the type of person who just take a mental note of things because I’m too lazy to write it down. But with Steemit, I write everything down so I do not lose the ideas that pop in my head from time to time. And those ideas might be the ones that give me that break that I dream of here.

### My Current Challenges to these Adjustments

To be honest, I am writing this draft at midnight which I will post tomorrow. My last point on **time management** is still a challenge for me. Most of us are doing this part time and we have other commitments too. But I know that we Steemians are passionate in this so we are willing to work hard. **If you can comment on my post, can you share how do you fit Steemit on a busy day?** I would really appreciate your response. Wow an exciting expression of feeling, I also just a few days join in steemit and I think I do not have time for anything else, besides cooking to write blog material in steemit, steemit really changed my life. steemit is the best media compared to other media.
