Before reaching the world surface, a meteorite will reach a very high temperature which is supposed to kill all organisms on or inside it. So i think there is no problem to touch it.

you are right @webcoder! but also there are theory that life could be spread trough planets via meteorites, i guess they should be big to keep insides a bit cooler
