It is finally almost here! With less than 24 hours to go until the @splinterlands Chaos Legion General Sale, we need to be making our game plans! The market is going to be flooded with cards and prices are going to be crazy - so where should we put out hard earned DEC and Credits? 

I am a low budget player, so I have to really think about my investment choices before making them. So I’ve been planning all week what cards I’m looking to pick up first, and what prices I’m hoping to get them for! And I thought if I’m having this dilemma, other Silver players much be as well! So here’s my guide to priorities, price targets and getting the most bang for your buck in Chaos Legion!

## Step 1: Summoners
The Biggest game changer in Splinterlands is owning a levelled up Summoner. Without them you can’t even use your levelled up Monsters - but because of this, they are in the highest demand too! While I’ll be looking mainly at Kelya and Tarsa, and hoping to get them to at least Level 3 each, if General Sloan or Thaddius are at half the price per BCX, I will be more than happy to pick them up instead. While they may not be as powerful, the value and the saved funds will let me invest in a stronger deck for those Splinters, making up for their weaknesses. As for price targets, anything below $2.50 is an absolute steal in my mind, and I’m happy to pay up to $4 per BCX for those premium Summoners in Tarsa and Kelya. That’s a fair dip in price from the current, but I’m hopeful!

## Step 2: Constructing the Decks
So you’ve got your summoners, what’s next? In my mind, there’s a simple way to build a deck for maximum winrate. 
#### 2.1: Tanks
First of all, I’m gonna look for a good solid tank option, or even two or three! For every Summoner, I’ll want at least one option for Little League/Low-Mana and one for standard battles. I’m looking at things like the Antoid Platoon for Tarsa for Low Mana, and Diemonshark for Kelya. Solid options that when levelled will make way for our next category of cards I’m looking for; the Carry cards.

#### 2.2: Carry Cards
This is where the bulk of your damage comes from, the cards that win you games. Tenyi Strikers, Pelacor Arbelists, the likes. They will be the card that gets you over the threshold to the win. Sometimes Tanks can also be this: Grund and The Forgotten One can act as both Carries and Tanks in certain cases. These are vital to your team, but with no Tank, they will die too fast! Hence this build from the front approach to my team to allow these cards to shine!

#### 2.3: Supports
Finally, the Support cards. Healers like the Goblin Psychic, Protectors like Queen Mycelia or Thorns buffers like Venari Spellsmith, these cards provide the extra little boost your opponents may not have! While not essential, they can tip the scales in a fight rapidly! While they are my lowest priority, I am not neglecting their importance at all!

Using these 3 categories, I will build up 1 or 2 Splinters based on the Summoners I was able to nab, and get these cards as high as my summoners will take me. Every stat point can matter, and high levelled cards are no exception! What’s important is to once again be looking for Value over follows the Meta. I mentioned the Venari Spellsmith earlier - it’s a Neutral which provides great versatility. But if I look at my Collection and see I only want Amplify for Magic Reflect in my Life deck, maybe I can get Dax Paragon cheaper! Watching the market and thinking carefully is essential when you’re on a budget.

### This Is All Great, But What About Packs? 
I’m not going to be buying packs! I see them as a luxury item here. If I can get a couple at the end of my shopping, maybe I’ll treat myself. But I need specific cards for my Decks, not random chances. Sure we can dream of a Golden Quix or pulling al the Fiends in 5 packs, but it just isn’t likely! I will be missing out on airdrop points - but I wouldn’t be buying enough to guarantee any cards anyway so again, it would be more gambling!

So there we have it. My approach to building decks come the CL General Sale. This will get you the highest winrate and bang for your buck, in my opinion. The most important part is looking for the value, I cannot stress it enough. Do not blindly follow the Meta - make your own decisions based on your scenarios and judgments. Maybe that card we’re all ignoring is the one that suits you perfectly!
