Pocket silver challenge - doing my bit for charity

So I've not been ignoring you guys. I have still been taking part in the pocket silver challenge but does anyone really want to see my trip to the supermarket or my drive to work?? I'm still posting on my Instagram page but I thought I'd share this one with you as I'm very proud of what I've achieved.

So yesterday, Sunday the 1st October, I took part in my first half marathon. Having recently shredded a few pounds(see previous blog on my diet), and running a little bit more these days, I thought I'd test myself and give it a go. Well good news I completed the course and in a time I was happy with.

Please forgive the lack of pictures of me running, but it was hard enough to keep breathing let alone take a selfie.

If anyone was wondering, a half marathon is 13.1 miles. Cardiff half marathon is the 2nd biggest attended half marathon in the UK, after the great north run and 3rd largest when including the London full marathon. So it's a rather large event with some 25,000 people entering this year.

And just to prove I did run it here is my running vest. I chose to run for the charity mcmillan cancer research and although luckily no family member has had cancer, a few people I know have and since I work for a cancer screening program in the NHS it seemed to be the right one.

So if no-one can beat my distance, in one single go, I'd like to claim the privilege of saying my silver coin has travelled the furthest... Can anyone top that??
