I learned something new, I did not know what clickbait meant, now in the essence of your publication I can tell you that I am a bit new in steemit, and I have searched for information, tutorials, and I have read a lot of this point ... and recommend placing a title that catches the attention, that catches the attention of the public, and I usually as I am not very creative I put a normal title. My husband has also told me to put flashy titles, of course the content must be of quality and justify the title, no cheating. Nobody likes the yellow labels that tell you something and when you enter it has nothing to do with it. Here in my country there is such a newspaper, and it does not have much credibility for that reason.

I'm seeing lots of this not just here in steemit but even in other social media like Youtube or Facebook. I hate it when the content is nothing close to the preview photo on articles or videos! I guess people has became too competitive in getting others attention.

Click bait distruct most of us ans even force us to forget what we suppose to do in that time. Click bait in all right word is not a bad idea after all. Something like someone who will fall in the building is eye catching and sometimes push us to see what may happen next.

Not a fan of clickbait, I usually unfollow publications that post articles with titles like "One thing you need to do daily to be more successful", and they then waffle around for 500+ words in the article to bring across one point (to justify making it an entire article). Why not state it in the title? If people are interested, they'll click to see a (hopefully) insightful explanation in the full article. Clickbait aims to generate hits to articles that are lackluster at best.

It just wrankles me that clickbait wastes so much time with low value information that seems to have some small shred of meaning.

News sites are the worst. Autoplaying videos, multiple ads breaking up paragraphs, pop-ups, disable adblock notifications, and when I'm on mobile some of them redirect me to "YOU HAVE A VIRUS" scam sites, and when you try to go back to the article, you realize they've redirected you 20 times so there's no convenient way to get back.

Lol. I like making clickbaity titles sometimes,  with a question mark picture, and making clickbait the first tag.... just for the lulz

A striking title is a good technique but always accompanied by good content. What could the title help if when entering the publication there is crap !!! you simply have one less reader, or several less readers, because that reader could say to the friend: do not waste your time reading it because it has nothing to do with the title, so cheating is worth nothing.

Sometimes I will check out a article wondering what does the pictures have to do with the title....it's almost always a got-cha moment....lol.

Did you know that if you edit your post to change the title the link stays the same? Not that I'm suggesting that for any particular purpose.

The problem today is everyone is so worried about clicks and visits to their content. 

With Steemit it is slightly different. Members here are not reliant on Google AdSense for revenue or "proof" their content is a hit. Other members show that with upvotes that have a monetary value connected.

Members can also flag clickbait and such B.S. taking away funds. 

That has a clear cut impact on content creators.

The problem is, most users are scared to use the flag system in any way because they are concerned about retribution from the other member and their fans.

I think clickbait here on Steemit is not as prevalent as it is elsewhere, even the local "news" resorts to clickbait headlines in attempts to get people to watch, click, and share.

I personally try to avoid clickbait. I hate it, and don't want to push it if at all possible.
