I had a totally different topic in mind today but I just had such an awesome conversation I can't let the awesomeness go to waste. I walked about 25 minutes (4 stations) to get some Vietnamese food. Sold out! Oops. Well, nearby there is a shop with a shop that I really like. A tiny herb tea shop that also serves pasta. Only about 6 people can fit. I often find myself in long conversations with the owner until it gets too full and I want to free up a seat or he gets too busy to talk. Today the two women who were talking to him when I got there left after about 20 minutes and nobody else came. I thought we might not talk this time cause I was quite spacy as I cut pages for my zine (10 copies made already!) But as I started cleaning up an older woman who I've met before came to eat and started talking to me about color therapy. The conversation moved to traditional medicine which we all had a lot to say about. I learned a bit. Then the woman left and we got into a long conversation about a bunch of metaphysical topics, synchronicity, songwriting, politics and creativity. Wow. What a conversation! Do you ever feel like that? Now I'm walking the 25 minutes home and I just feel thrilled to be alive with such beautiful people and such terrible struggle that all somehow seems to bring out more beauty hiding beneath. Thank you for being alive with me and reading these words and being you and let me get off this keyboard and enjoy some sounds and sights and thoughts and feelings quietly! You are awesome!

The blandness and horror of closed conversation. After this conversation, i felt betrayed, belittled and like i should crawl under a rock and die. Took me a week to recover. The problem was, i thought we could stick to fact. They "wanted" work done, i was doing the work... but really, they just wanted to show they know more than me, and to put me in my place. I have a difficult question rolling around in my mind. That, these people may not actually want the cabinets done. Or, that the narcissistic supply may be more important than the cabinets. Which is really hard for me to compute or imagine. ---- I am glad that you are having good conversations and positive interactions with people. It is good for the soul.
