Are you needy? I sure have been. I'm not needy in that attention hungry way that we associates with neediness. Neediness is something much broader than we tend to see it. Neediness is needing anything. Neediness is requiring any conditions to be met in order to feel fulfilled. It's waiting for others to do things we could easily do ourselves. It's any and every bad mood that sticks. I'm not judging anyone for being needy, it's natural during parts of our development. In order not to need, we need to understand how life works. We need to trust in our own ability to affect the world around us, and in the universe which will reflect whatever we are giving it. We need to root out old habits of destructive thinking. Right now I'm working on coming at every interaction as a giver. I want to be someone who can cheer up others and bring people together. Notice I didn't say "I want to cheer up others and bring them together." It's not about them. To focus on their reaction to me is to be needy once again. I only need focus on being the best version of myself. From there I trust that things will get better. If I don't get in the way, they have to.
