 When the dimension of all things visual is more important than the story you wanted to tell with your art, you enter the territory of ornaments. Normally, when you describe something as "deep" that means what you see extends far downward below the surface. A deep surface is therefore a contradiction in itself...only possible if we turn to philosophy.
