In a common theme, Michael Jordan continued to destroy, preventing further Hall of Famers from becoming NBA champions. Let's see the final players on the list.

## 4. John Stockton

All-Star Appearances: 10
All-NBA First Team: 2
NBA MVP Awards: 0

One of the greatest single franchise NBA players of all-time, John Stockton spent his entire 19-year career with the Utah Jazz. Stockton holds records that may likely never be beaten, holding the records for number of career assists and steals by some margin.

The Jazz made the playoffs in every season of his career and he led Utah to the NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998. In a common theme, one of the greatest point guards and passers of all-time was stopped from winning an NBA championship by Chicago and Michael Jordan.

## 3. Patrick Ewing

All-Star Appearances: 11
All-NBA First Team: 1
NBA MVP Awards: 0

Ewing had two chances two win an NBA championship. His best chance was during Michael Jordan's time away from the game. The Knicks and Ewing made it all the way to the 1994 NBA Finals up against the Rockets. Houston would lose in seven games, with John Starks' championship winning shot attempt blocked in the last second by Hakeem Olajuwon in game six.

An Achilles tendon injury forced Ewing to miss the 1999 NBA Finals, his presence missed as the Knicks went down in five games to Tim Duncan's San Antonio Spurs, who underwent the most successful tank job in NBA history to acquire Duncan in the draft. After 15-seasons with the Knicks and a season with the Supersonics and Magic, one of the greatest centers in NBA history failed to win a championship.

## 2. Charles Barkley

All-Star Appearances: 11
All-NBA First Team: 5
NBA MVP Awards: 1

He was short for a power forward but Charles Barkley was one of the leagues best rebounders who could do it all - score, defend and create plays. He was named one of the league's 50th Greatest Players and 75 Greatest Players during the 50th and 75th anniversaries of the NBA and had a stellar 16-year career in the NBA.

Barkley went as far as winning the Western Conference with the 62-game winning Suns. Phoenix would however go on to lose in the 1993 NBA Finals. Again, Michael Jordan and the Bulls stopping another eventual Hall of Famer from becoming an NBA champion.

## 1. Karl Malone

All-Star Appearances: 14
All-NBA First Team: 11
NBA MVP Awards: 2

One of the greatest power forwards in NBA history, Karl Malone made the playoffs in every season of his 19-year career. Eighteen of those were with the Utah Jazz where he made the NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998, losing to Michael Jordan and the Bulls in six games on both occasions. That's the closest the 14-time All-Star has come to winning a championship.

In a last ditch attempt to win a title, Malone teamed up with Gary Payton, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant at the Lakers. The title favourites would however be stunned by Ben Wallace and the Detroit Pistons who would win the 2004 NBA Finals in five games in an epic upset.
