<h2>8. 1999 NBA Draft</h2>
One of the best drafts in NBA history doesn't have a consensus superstar. Only Shawn Marion earned more than three All-Star appearances. The 1999 draft class was however loaded with talent.

The top three picks Elton Brand, Steve Francis and Baron Davis earned seven All-Star appearances. Lamar Odom (4th), Richard Hamilton (7th), Shawn Marion (9th), Jason Terry (10th) and Ron Artest (16th) all won NBA championships.

Making the 1999 draft class special is Manu Ginobili. Drafted with the second last pick of the draft (57th), he became a two-time All-Star and won four NBA championships with San Antonio. Ginobili was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022.

<h2>7. 2009 NBA Draft</h2>
The 2009 NBA draft is one of the best drafts in NBA history with a draft class that includes Blake Griffin (1st), James Harden (3rd), Stephen Curry (7th) and DeMar DeRozan (9th) all drafted in the top 10.

The Grizzlies drafted a position need with the second pick and center Hasheem Thabeet ended up being one of the <a href="https://www.wolfgangsport.com/10-biggest-nba-draft-busts-of-all-time/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">biggest draft busts of all-time.</a> Helping the lack of depth in the 2009 draft class is Stephen Curry who is the greatest three-point NBA shooter of all-time. Both Curry and Harden have also been named league MVPs. Jrue Holiday (17th) and Jeff Teague (19th) have also earned All-Star appearances.

<h2>6. 1998 NBA Draft</h2>
Michael Olowokandi was selected with the first pick of the draft but became one of the <a href="https://www.wolfgangsport.com/10-biggest-nba-draft-busts-of-all-time/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">biggest draft busts</a>. The top 10 picks of the draft saves the 1998 draft class and helps it to become one of the best drafts in NBA history.

Antawn Jamison (4th), Vince Carter (5th), Dirk Nowitzki (9th) and Paul Pierce (10th) all became superstars of the NBA all scoring over 20,000 career points. Although only Nowitzki and Pierce won an NBA championship, between the four they earned 34 All-Star appearances and 18 All-NBA teams.

Only Nowitzki earned a league MVP award from the 1998 draft class and there isn't much overall depth. Rashard Lewis did become a two-time All-Star after being picked 32nd overall.


<h2>5. 1987 NBA Draft</h2>
David Robinson (1st), Scottie Pippen (5th) and Reggie Miller (11th) helped the 1987 draft class become one of the best drafts in NBA history with all three enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Robinson and Miller are among the <a href="https://www.wolfgangsport.com/the-greatest-single-franchise-nba-players-of-all-time/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">greatest single franchise players of all time.</a>

San Antonio accomplished the rarity of picking the true best player of the draft class with Robinson who became one of the greatest shot blockers. Miller became one of the greatest three-point shooters in history.

Pippen along with Horace Grant (10th), won three NBA championships with Michael Jordan. Kevin Johnson (7th), Mark Jackson (18th) and Reggie Lewis (22nd) all became All-Stars. Kenny Smith (6th) became a key piece of Hakeem Olajuwon's <a href="https://www.wolfgangsport.com/most-successful-tank-jobs-in-nba-history/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rockets team that won back-to-back championships</a>.
