How I Attain Inner Peace

I like to think that I'm a simple person - well, I am and I've always been conscious of it. It's one of the first things I became self-aware of as a child too. As a child, my mum usually took me shopping during the festive periods, and I would always gear towards the simpler things.

It was annoying to her at first because i had an open cheque to go all glitz and glam but I'd rather be minimalistic. But then she stopped complaining at my rather 'plain' taste and began seeing things from my view. I don't like it loud but my simple taste is distinct and satisfying.

It's not just in the things that I own or the way I present myself, I like to have a clear head as well and live in my simple happy bubble I created for myself even if reality seems otherwise. This makes my life easy and I attain a level of peace within me that no pressure can take that away.

##### How I Maintain Inner Peace

I've always believed in positive affirmations because I was brought up in the Christian way and also because my simple nature sees life for what it is - living. Hard times come, and in my heart, I know they would phase out as affirmations help ease my worries.

With regular affirmations come self-awareness which in turn brings contentment. I am well aware that I am my own person, unique in my ways and I acknowledge everyone else is too. We're all different and our paths are not the same.

I don't feel like I have to impress anyone and I don't care for people trying to impress me. What is the point of it all when I'm not living for anyone but myself?

Self-respect is very key to me and I value myself enough to enjoy the little things that give me joy, not letting others dictate for me. If I like a particular thing and everyone else thinks it's dumb, I 200% do not care as long as it makes me happy.

##### Living In Harmony With Others & The Environment

I respect people enough to know boundaries and to be a decent human. I don't have to live up to anyone's expectations but the least I can be is decent.

It's not a perfect world and I don't expect people to be decent or be nice to me just because I am, so I allow room for slip-ups. We all slip-up at some point and so I always try to remember this and not be riled up about a lot of things.

I don't like to dwell in the chaos and I'd rather avoid situations that lead to confrontations but then I will address issues with people that matter to me. If I don't care enough for things/people, it's easy not to be bothered, life is not that hard.

It's a crazy world that keeps getting crazier and you're bound to be riled up by a lot of things, people, government, wokeness and so on, the list is endless. The negative energy is too much out there and making a conscious effort to be positive in the midst of chaos is essential for a peaceful and happy life.

I have satisfaction in my simple life and in the knowledge that I am on life's journey at a good pace and I don't give anyone the power to take that away from me.

In summary, positivity in the form of affirmations, contentment, and self-respect, together with simplicity gives me inner peace and happiness. Life can be crazy sometimes but I am mostly happy because I choose to be.
