At Wombat, we always strive to bring the most value to our users in terms of accessing and using decentralized applications, specifically blockchain-powered games. We do this by providing free accounts and resources as well as a premium user experience (UX).
Since its launch in June 2019, Wombat has become the fastest-growing EOS wallet with over 80000 users from over 160 countries who have signed millions of transactions via the mobile Android and iOS apps, as well as the Chrome extension.
Today, as a next step in the evolution of Wombat, we’re excited to announce that Wombat goes multi-chain by incorporating support for the Telos network!
# Why Telos?
As an offspring of the EOS ecosystem that Wombat is, Telos is the natural choice for our expansion as it is not only the second largest EOSIO-based blockchain, but the blockchain with the second highest activity according to [blocktivity.info](https://blocktivity.info/). Telos is being supported by the most important ecosystem players in the EOSIO space like Newdex or bloks.io.
Telos is in the perfect position to enhance blockchain gaming and provide all players with more streamlined experiences from a purely technical stand. In addition to that, Telos has started onboarding games like Angry Warlord, which will also be available to play through Wombat. We are excited to enrich the gaming space with them on both fronts and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact of our joint efforts on the industry.
We’ve worked with the amazing people at [Telos Foundation](https://www.telosfoundation.io/) to bring each Wombat user a free Telos account in addition to the EOS accounts we already provide. Together with the Telos Foundation, we want to bring the next 1 million blockchain users to both Telos and EOS. *“We’re so excited to welcome Wombat as a preferred wallet to Telos. They’ve really pushed the boundaries when it comes to UX and ease of use for the EOS ecosystem and will enable rapid growth for us, too”*, says Justin Giudici, CPO of Telos Foundation.
# What changes for the users?
Wombat’s philosophy has been to strip away the tedious tasks of managing blockchain accounts and resources on EOSIO blockchains, and provide for a seamless experience instead, which appeals to both blockchain enthusiasts and regular users without a deep technical background. We’re therefore keeping the UX as streamlined as it has always been while growing Wombat into a multi-chain wallet - and of course, account creation will remain free for our users, also on Telos.
This integration won’t impact existing users in any respect apart from introducing an option to create a Telos account in the Settings section. This process is triggered automatically for the first instances when a user launches a Telos-based game or dApp or would like to move Telos in their Wombat wallet.
All new users will be onboarded onto Wombat with a Telos account by default. They can create EOS accounts via similar means as described above; either manually through Settings or upon initiating an inbound EOS top-up or an EOSIO-powered game/dApp. Wombat will also provide free transactions on the Telos blockchain, and your daily quota will be counted separately, both for free-tier users and users of Wombat Prime.
All of the above has now been released to the Wombat Android app, and will soon be available on the Google Chrome extension and the iOS app.
# Onward
By supporting several blockchains, we follow through with our goal to provide even better services to our users and offer only the top games, Dapps, and assets. This is only one of the many major steps to come, and we will keep seeking out and bringing aboard the future classics of blockchain games and dApps.
