The child/parent relationship is, for your entire life a tricky one. But, as you get older it’s safe to assume that as you grow more comfortable with who you are, you also might grow closer to them. You start to see the world through the eyes of the adult you are, and may realize that they in fact DID know what they were talking about. But where is the line drawn between being who you are and oversharing? It’s one thing to let your mother see your latest tattoo, and artfully examine your weed card, but would you describe your latest blow job to your dad? Should you text your mom that you “can’t talk right now, because the mushrooms at Coachella are starting to kick in?”

The parents of today try to share tastes and hobbies with their children, but they also show overprotective

There are indeed dangers in society and there are young people who do delicate things. We think that this time is not worse than others in terms of dangers. However, we no longer see children on the street playing alone - when in the past this was the most normal thing in the world. In the information age everything is amplified.

It is then, when the argument of the dangers is used to intervene, to get more of the account in the lives of the children. The adolescent ceases to be transparent in the eyes of his parents, he locks himself more into himself. The parents' reaction is control, morality, opinion about their life, intervening in studies, in moments of fun, pressing them to leave or stop going out, to think about what is best for them, about who are friends . The logical reaction of adolescents is usually silence or negativism, which generates a vicious circle of helplessness and discomfort.

It probably helps to remember that we adults have been adolescents and that we have gone through situations of confusion, difficult moments and that there is something inevitable in all this.

I think the amount you share with your parents starts when you're young. As you get older you get a good gauge of what you are comfortable sharing with them (and what they are comfortable hearing) and you share accordingly. I'm of the mind that you share what they need to know...otherwise, enjoy the mind expanding shroom trip and don't let the purple frog convince you to chase him into the woods.
