Hello everyone. A warm greeting to the @comedyopenmic community. I'm here to share an anecdote and prank I did when I was a boy.

My mother was a very strong-willed woman and you always had to do what she said and imposed. She was Spanish and my father was Venezuelan. Everything was a protocol to do anything in the house from the meal until we went to sleep. 

>Mi madre era una mujer muy fuerte de caracter y siempre había que hacer lo que ella dijera e impusiera. Ella era española y mi padre venezolano. Todo era un protocolo para hacer cualquier cosa en la casa desde la comida hasta que nos íbamos a dormir.

I was a big eater, I was never full and always cried hunger. I wanted to eat all the time and my mother would punish me for it. My mother was known for selling a lot of sweets at home and one of the ones she made the most was dulce de leche, which was her specialty. She would prepare it in the afternoon and the boys from the neighborhood would immediately go to buy this delicious dessert. The elaboration of her desserts was varied, she prepared dulce de lechosa, mango, coconut, and a great variety.


>Yo era muy comilón, nunca me llenaba y siempre lloraba hambre. Quería comer todo el tiempo y mi madre por eso me castigaba. Mi madre se caracterizaba por vender en casa muchos dulces y uno de los que más preparaba era dulce de leche era su especialidad. Lo preparaba en la tardecita y enseguida iban los muchachos del barrio a comprar ese delicioso postre. La elaboración de sus postres eran variados preparaba dulce de lechosa, de mango, de coco, y una gran variedad.

One day my mother prepared the dulce de leche early because she had a lot of orders. She made a big pan of dulce de leche. My eyes got really big when I saw that pan full of dulce de leche. By the time it was almost six o'clock in the evening my mother had sold quite a lot of dulce de leche. But there was still some left. I waited for everyone to go to sleep and got up, opened the refrigerator and took out a cup full of dulce de leche, then I went to my room to enjoy the much desired dulce de leche. 

>Un día mi madre preparó temprano el dulce de leche porque tenía bastante pedidos. Hizo una paila bien grande de dulce de leche. A mi los ojos se me pusieron grandísimo cuando vi esa paila llena de dulce de leche. Cuando ya eran casi las seis de la tarde mi madre había vendido bastante dulce de leche. Pero aún quedaba. Espere que todos se fueran a dormir y me levanté abrí la nevera y saque en una taza una cantidad suficiente de dulce de leche luego me fui a mi habitación a deleitarme el tan ansiado dulce. 






After I ate the first cup full of dulce de leche I was not satisfied and went back to the fridge and filled another cup with the delicious candy. By the time I was half way through the cup I was feeling sick, but I still ate every last bit of fudge that was left in the cup. 


>Después que me comí la primera taza llena de dulce de leche no quedé satisfecho y volví a la nevera y llené otra taza con el delicioso dulce. Ya cuando iba por la mitad de la taza me iba sintiendo mal, pero aun asi no deje de comerme hasta el último poquito de dulce que quedaba en la taza. 


Then I went to sleep, my belly was very big, as if it had been pressed.  And what was my biggest surprise that I could not sleep, I began to feel pains in my stomach, cramps, I wanted to vomit, I felt dizzy. And I started screaming: -I'm dying, I'm dying, help. My mother came into the room in desperation and saw me dying, I was pale, she didn't know what was wrong with me and I didn't say anything. They immediately took me to the hospital. And the doctor who attended me asked my mother: "What did this child eat? My mother answered innocently: "He ate arepa with cheese and a little butter. The doctor said, "He must have eaten something else. 


>Luego me fui a dormir la barriga la tenía grandísima como prensada.  Y cual es mi mayor sorpresa que no podía dormir comenzaron los dolores de barriga, retorcijones, ganas de vomitar, me sentía mareado. Y comencé a gritar: -me muero, me muero, auxilio. Mi madre entró a la habitación toda desesperada y me vio moribundo, estaba pálido ella no sabía que me pasaba y yo no decía nada. Enseguida me llevaron al hospital. Y el médico que me atendió pregunto a mi madre: -qué comió este niño?. Mi madre toda inocente respondió: -comió arepa con queso y un poco de mantequilla. El médico decía: -debe haber comido otra cosa.

When the doctor asked me, I answered, "I ate two cups full of dulce de leche, which my mother makes and it is very tasty, doctor. The doctor laughed ha, ha, ha, ha. My mother scolded me strongly as well as my father. See how full you are, my mother said, you have a big belly. I spent two days in the hospital receiving intravenous treatment. My stomach could not take any food, only the IV they gave me. I recovered and went home and never made any kind of mischief with sweets and food, my gluttony passed with that experience. That experience served as a learning experience for me.    


>Cuando me preguntó el médico: -le respondí me comí dos tazas repletas de dulce de leche que lo prepara mi madre y es bien sabroso doctor. El médico se echó a reír ja, ja, ja.Mi madre me regañó fuertemente al igual que mi padre. Ve como estas empachado decía mi madre, esa barriga la tiene grandísima. Pase dos días hospitalizado recibiendo tratamiento endovenoso. Mi estómago no aguantaba nada de comida solo el suero que me daban. Me recuperé volví a casa y más nunca hice ningún tipo de travesura con dulces y comidas la glotonería se me paso con esa experiencia. Esa experiencia me sirvió de aprendizaje.
