Recent solo mining event happened on Tuesday morning on Block 721,310. Solo miners try to solve Bitcoin block themselves in contract to pool mining where a large number of miners pool together their hash power to increase their odds of finding the next block and share the rewards. Solo block find may be extremely rewarding, but a highly unlikely event considering the limited hash power a single miner can garner. CKPool admin Con Kolivas announced the recent successful solo block find on tweeter, congratulating the user. This is the fourth solo block find by a miner on CKPool since January 11th this year. CKPool is not a mining pool, but instead it is a service that caters the Bitcoin node running needs of solo miners for a fee. Back on 12th January a solo miner with small hash power of 126 TH/s solved a block. Interestingly, another solo miner also belonging to CKPool running with just 86 TH/s found another valid block two weeks latter. Out of 721,240 Bitcion blocks 264 blocks were solved by CKPool solo miners, having a puny success ratio of just 0.037%.
