May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Seventeen: If There Will Be No Money Paid On Steemit, Would You Still Be Around?
**Hello Friends**
I am writing this post in response to Day Seventeen of **@dragosroua**'s **#challenge30days**. And the question is:

For me, the answer would be two folded...
**First:** If there was no money to be made on Steemit, would I have joined it?
Well, the answer is simply....
### <center> NO </center>
If there was no money paid on steemit, I would never have been here. I joined Steemit 7 months ago, courtesy of a Youtube Video about "How to make money online". So if there was no money involved, I would have never signed up here. That is as simple as it can get.

<center> ***Hate me for it.*** </center>
*But it's the truth and I am not ashamed of it...*

**Second:** Now that, I am here on Steemit and someday suddenly the money payout goes out of the window, would I still be hanging around?
As much as I like making money here, I can't deny that I have made a fair bit of acquaintances and friendships here. I have so many friend here from different countries, diverse backgrounds and variable cultures. And I love learning about it all , that is something you can put price tag on!!!
So If the money making option is no more, would still be here daily...

Probably for a lesser time daily but I would definitely stop by steemit daily to check my friends and leave a few comments.
Some fantastic people that I connected with are **@teamsteem, @acromott, @karensuestudios, @polebird, @valth and @emjoe**. My relationship with these guys is not dependent on something as petty as money. And I can't imagine my life going on without connecting with these people.

I heard some people say "Join for the money, stay for the community", and I think I would have done the same as you. At a first glace of the frontpage when not signed in, I would probably not have joined if there was no payout for the posts, but now that I've been here a while, I would never stop using it.
