The Telegram messenger team has released an alternative Telegram X application for iOS smartphones. Among the updates - a dark theme, rewritten to Swift source code and increased energy efficiency.

The fact that the application is really developed by the Telegram team is evidenced by the information about the creator in the App Store. The application was published by Telegram Messenger LLP - the same company publishes the desktop version of the messenger in the App Store, and on Google Play - the version of the Android application.

Blogger Ilya Kazakov published a screenshot of the correspondence with the messenger support service, which also confirmed the official status of the new application.

A new application is available for the iPhone and iPad. In the description of Telegram X developers indicate that it is completely written in the programming language Swift, allows you to install a dark theme for the messenger and runs faster than the main version.

In comments to the tweet of Kazakov, the user Twitter @BilberryMuffin noted other updates: for example, a customizable font size, the ability to listen to audio files without downloading to the device and viewing GIF animations in the version for the iPad.
