When you point the finger to avoid or assign blame, you're not fooling anyone.  The biggest offenders and self righteous people are the worst at this.  In times of strife, like during a pandemic, we point the finger and set blame like an arrow.

Make sure you work with your coworkers and neighbors for a win-win situation before blaming people for complex situations.  We all like to find a single point of failure in a system, but it is mostly not this simple in real life.  We make excuses and scapegoat easy targets instead of investigating the systems that have failed us.  Ask yourself why the person in question you wish to blame is the "weak link", and what role the system itself played.

It is an old saying, but when you point one finger, there are three pointing back at you.
