The other day I saw on television an Argentine pastor who spoke about the new and not so new (not to say old) believers and how each of them related to the power and presence of God.

When we receive the Lord as our Savior, we know that there is "something" that is activated within us, we have all experienced it at some stage of our lives (if you have not lived it, I invite you to ask how to do it so that you can live it also ) and it has been without a doubt one of the experiences that we will remember with more emotion. When we are in this stage we feel that we have the POWER to pray for any person, to do everything that once was impossible for us and there is a burning fire in our heart. We do not have to do anything to have this power in our favor, because it was part of the pack when we said yes to the Lord.

If we stay only in this experience of the manifestation and expression of the power of God we will be absolutely captured by its immensity and we will speak to the world of Him with our hearts almost in our throats, but there is something else.

To address and administer the power of God in a good way we need His PRESENCE and we must seek it. It is not free. It is something that I must year after day to wisely manage what He gives us. It is as if we were millionaires, we have a lot of money (power) to invest, but we need a financial advisor (presence) to invest well. If not, we can go bankrupt or do very bad business.

The power of God, through his Holy Spirit, goes with us everywhere, is something free for us, but the presence is something that I should look for in intimacy and that I should yearn for in the deepest part of my being, that is a habit, a necessity.

Both, power and presence, are vital for my Christian walk and they feed off each other. Every time we manifest the power of God or want to do it, let's seek His presence in intimacy to never use His power to use it, but always knowing that it is His will that we do it. In the presence of God I find the perfect administration of His power.
