And because I love short articles, I will make it simple to understand:

The Socialist Venezuelan Government told the people that social programs were "benefits" The People would get, attaining in this way what they called "Social Justice".

One such social program is Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela. Housing for people who lost their self-built homes due to natural causes/events:

Nice, innit?

Well, the price:

1. It is not yours. You can only inhabit it for as long as you live.

2. You cannot pass it down onto your children once you die. It's not yours, remember.

3. You cannot sell it in order to get money to fund a venture and create value. It's not yours.

4. From time to time it'll be expected political support from you. Like, whenever the opposition or the government makes a public demonstration, they would like to see you there supporting the government.

5. You live with the fear it'll be taken from you once the government changes or whenever you fail to show support, just like the land where those were built was taken from their original owners in order to build those buildings.

6. It will never be yours.

7. In order to build those, the government expropriated private land and used oil revenue. They never invested on anything to fund these buildings, nor they sold it to their current inhabitants. They also expropriated a lot of companies to be in line with their socialist policies. The result is a country that cannot feed itself:

That's an actual photo of Venezuelans looking for food in the trash.

This didn't use to happen at this scale in the past.

Nothing is free folks. Don't be ever cheated into thinking something can be.
