## Bajo un Cielo de Ramas y Hojas

El accidentado paisaje de la selva de Susanoo se desplegaba frente a sus ojos, volaba a baja altura en un aerodeslizador personal, una suerte de ala de diez metros de envergadura, que se retorcía, extendía y plegaba, según las condiciones del viento, todo guiado automáticamente por un algoritmo de IA, que era instruido por la interfaz neural del piloto que viajaba de pie, sobre una plataforma situada justo en medio de ambas alas, sujeto por unos arneses de seguridad.

Verónica descendió y voló rasante sobre las copas de los árboles de más de setenta metros de altura de la densa selva. Las gigantescas ceibas y caobas, cuya altura se elevaba más de lo habitual, ayudadas por la menor gravedad del planeta, se mecían levemente por la briza que sobre ellas soplaba, generando un espectral sonido, abajo, al nivel del suelo reinaba un agobiante calor que en ninguna otra parte del planeta podía percibirse.

Podía escuchar la inquietante letanía del canto de las oropéndolas sobre su cabeza, y los chillidos de algunos primates que debían ocultarse en los árboles.
