## Piso de Cristal

Con una regularidad casi cronometrada, cada día estándar, según el horario de Heracles, llegaba por el puente un proyectil con un paquete de datos, hasta el momento no había ningún nuevo descubrimiento destacable. 

ROBERT había estado viajando durante cuatro días, siguiendo, primero una órbita alta, para realizar imágenes del planeta y luego una polar baja para cartografiar su superficie. Hasta el momento se había descubierto que se trataba de un mundo acuático o al menos no había ningún cuerpo de tierra emergida lo suficientemente grande como para divisarlo en las imágenes tomadas desde la órbita distante.

Los sensores Doppler mostraban un fondo oceánico accidentado que mostraban la existencia de placas tectónicas, algo que no es común en los planetas de este tipo. Aparte de las estructuras flotantes que estaban en las proximidades del puente, no se había encontrado, hasta el momento, ninguna otra, ni flotante, ni sumergida.

Los cosmólogos de la academia de Dione, usando la base de datos de cartografía cósmica, lograron, mediante una simulación, encontrar coincidencia en la ubicación de quinientos mil objetos conocidos, identificados en las imágenes enviadas por ROBERT y determinaron que el planeta debía encontrarse en la galaxia que, según el catálogo de la academia de Palas, recibía la denominación, PNCC3234, pero que, en algún momento fue conocida en la Tierra como Galaxia de Bernard.

Después de cuatro días de imágenes de la superficie del océano y de su fondo, al quinto día, con seis horas de retraso, respecto a la hora a la que puntualmente se habían recibido los paquetes de datos anteriores, se recibió uno nuevo que incluía un video, en el que un emocionado ROBERT explicaba su más reciente descubrimiento.

―Como pueden ver, descendí nuevamente a la superficie del planeta, porque quería obtener imágenes cercanas de una estructura que descubrí desde la órbita ―explicaba, mientras mostraba lo que parecían ser aguas extrañamente calmas en medio del océano en la que flotaban curiosos icebergs ―. Lo que están observando se trata de algún tipo de superficie plana de cristal que se encuentra flotando en el océano, el Doppler indica que tiene unos trescientos metros de grosor y es completamente traslúcida, podría tratarse de algún tipo de plataforma de descenso para naves.

ROBERT sobrevoló la extraña plataforma que tenía una forma hexagonal y un diámetro aproximado de kilómetro y medio.

―Alrededor hay muchas de estas estructuras parecidas a estalagmitas de cristal, no tienen una forma regular, y no encuentro un patrón especifico por el cual estén organizadas o ubicadas sobre la plataforma, simplemente parecen estar agrupadas al azar ―explicó ROBERT.

Entonces tomó altura respecto a la plataforma para mostrar imágenes del centro de la misma que se mostraba completamente despejado y liso.

―Lo más interesante de todo es lo que pueden ver bajo el piso de cristal ―bajo el completamente diáfano cristal de más de trescientos metros de grosor, se podía ver, sobre un poco profundo fondo oceánico, lo que parecía ser una estructura hundida ―. Esa estructura ¿no se les hace conocida? ―preguntó ROBERT sombrío, mientras mostraba a manera de comparación, imágenes de las naves Perseo y Andrómeda, y de los monumentos a Orfeo y Fenrir ―. Creo que una de las colonizadoras llegó más lejos de lo esperado ―dijo en tono sardónico.

Doppler sensors showed a rough ocean floor showing the existence of tectonic plates, something that is not common on planets of this type. Apart from the floating structures that were in the vicinity of the bridge, no other structures had been found so far, neither floating nor submerged.

The cosmologists of the academy of Dione, using the database of cosmic cartography, managed, through a simulation, to find coincidence in the location of five hundred thousand known objects, identified in the images sent by ROBERT and determined that the planet should be in the galaxy that, according to the catalogue of the academy of Palas, received the denomination, PNCC3234, but that, at some time was known on Earth as Bernard's Galaxy.

After four days of images of the surface of the ocean and its background, on the fifth day, six hours late compared to the time at which the previous data packages had been punctually received, a new one was received that included a video in which an excited ROBERT explained his most recent discovery.

-As you can see, I descended back to the planet's surface, because I wanted to get close images of a structure I discovered from orbit, -he explained, while showing what appeared to be strangely calm waters in the middle of the ocean in which curious icebergs floated -. What you are looking at is some kind of flat glass surface floating in the ocean, the Doppler indicates that it is about three hundred metres thick and completely translucent, it could be some sort of platform for ships to descend.

ROBERT flew over the strange platform that had a hexagonal shape and an approximate diameter of a kilometre and a half.

-There are many of these crystal stalagmite-like structures around, they don't have a regular shape, and I don't find a specific pattern by which they are organized or placed on the platform, they just seem to be randomly grouped together, -ROBERT explained.

He then took height from the platform to show images of the center of the platform that was completely clear and smooth.

-The most interesting thing of all is what they can see under the glass floor - under the completely diaphanous glass of more than three hundred meters thick, one could see, on a little deep ocean floor, what seemed to be a sunken structure -. Doesn't that structure make itself known to you? -ROBERT asked sombrely, while showing by way of comparison images of the Perseus and Andromeda ships, and of the monuments to Orpheus and Fenrir -. I think one of the colonizers went further than expected, - he said in a sardonic tone.
