La Última Hoja de Cristal

Erase una mansión donde vivía una feliz familia, el lugar quedaba en el campo lejos de la ciudad. Mamá, papá y su única hija llamada Cristal solían jugar todos los días en el járdin, corrían y paseaban para ver los árboles que se movían alegremente al compás del viento, juntos se divertían mientras el sol irradiaba su calor.

De repente, una enfermedad inesperada cae sobre el cuerpo de la niña Cristal, una fiebre alta obliga a los padres a llevarla al médico para curarla, varias intervenciones tuvo que sufrir Cristal durante el padecimiento. luego de tantos estudios la niña estuvo obligada a guardar reposo en su alcoba para ver su recuperación. La soledad cubría al ambiente, un frio triste se esparcía en cada espacio del lugar como vaticinando algo atroz.

La niña Cristal empeoró, el resplandor de su alma se encendió y congeló todo a su alrededor, era el momento de partir y en ese instante la última hoja de un arból cayó, era el alma de Cristal diciendo adiós.

## Visiones en Ultravioleta

En la fría noche de Caliope, en medio de una intensa nevada, destellos de luz azul saltan ante mi vista, animales huyen presurosos al notar mi tosca presencia, a lo lejos el resplandor de cielo nocturno, se ve iluminado por un velo resplandeciente que disfraza su oscuridad.

Las estrellas brillan más de lo normal, son puntos de intenso y claro resplandor, muy diferente al atenuado y tembloroso brillo que normalmente muestran. Nuevas formas de sensual belleza puedo distinguir en medio del cielo, las que antes habían estado ocultas a mis ojos.

A lo lejos en la otra orilla del lago, distingo la silueta del antiguo nodo principal de terraformación, hoy abandonado en medio de la soledad del bosque, parcialmente oculto por las fantasmagóricas formas de árboles y arbustos, que crecen terroríficos ante mis ojos, en medio del espejo de hielo de las cristalinas aguas.

Las flores de los sauces de nieve expulsan sus invisibles nubes de polen, diminutas explosiones de gas salen proyectadas, formando nubes purpuras, alrededor de las copas de los árboles, mientras hordas de escarabajos lámpara vuelan al encuentro del polen expulsado.

A lo lejos un destello en la nieve, revela mi objetivo, un fogonazo, una especie de pequeña lampara de intenso resplandor azul salta entre los bancos de nieve, una liebre del hielo, su pelaje blanco como el algodón no puede ocultarla entre la nieve, ante mi, su silueta de distingue claramente sin dejar ningún lugar a dudas.

Reduzco mis pulsaciones y respiración, si yo la puedo ver, ella también podría, si notara mi presencia. Levanto el cañón de mi rifle de pulsos y centro su resplandeciente cuerpo púrpura en el centro de la mira. Inhalo una suave, pero larga bocanada de gélido aire, que rasguña mi garganta, como si los miles de diminutos cristales de nieve se propusieran infructuosamente desgarrarla.

Cambio mi visión al espectro visible, mis ojos parecen quedar ciegos por momentos, la oscuridad del bosque me atonta, poco a poco mis pupilas se dilatan y se ajustan a las nuevas condiciones, camino hacia mi presa caída y la encuentro aun sacudiéndose en estertores eléctricos, la tomo de las largas orejas y hurgo entre el impóluto blanco pelaje de su espalda, hasta encontrar entre sus omoplatos un pequeño pulsador, lo oprimo y como por arte de magia, el animalito empieza a retorcerse entre mis manos y lo dejo caer a la nieve, para verlo correr despavorido entre los arbustos hasta desaparecer de mi vista.

―La presa robot ha sido reseteada, empieza el conteo de cinco minutos, para proseguir con la competencia, mantenga su posición y sus gafas en modo de visión normal ―dice la voz de la IA de control de la competencia, en mis audífonos. Ahora sólo me queda esperar.
