After a long and particularly tiring shift at work, I'm home... And I think there are few things as good as coming home? Don't you? 

I absolutely agree with that... our little nest, our comfort. 

This morning I had already taken some photos and edited the best ones in preparation for my daily publication here on Hive. 

As soon as I pressed the power button on my PC, something didn't seem quite ‘normal’... Driven by a slightly louder hum from the cooling fans, I noticed that the message that appeared was simply ‘Missing operating system’... 

A feeling of helplessness and even sadness came over me. Not because I won't be able to buy another computer, but because the possibility of the fault causing me to lose thousands of photos that I had on the internal discs is something to take into account. 

As I never physically put everything on the same disc, and I even have the system in RAID, I hope that by recovering the computer I'll be able to restore the precious image files that I value so much.

It's been a while since I've felt ‘unlucky’, but I confess that lately this recurring thought has been haunting my thoughts and ideas. From the keyboard on my Surface, which has also decided to give its soul to the creator, to my computer. 

It's ridiculous that I'm here worrying about something that simply isn't necessary for me to live! If it was a serious health problem that had no cure or treatment, or even a tragedy like a fire, or a war, a collapse... now a computer? For God's sake. I'm making a big deal out of this, aren't I?

And I'm more annoyed because I realise that I'm suffering from First World Kid Problems Syndrome....

I hope that when I wake up tomorrow at least the world won't seem so grey, or that I'll have a particular cloud hanging over my bald head!
