A lovely post, full of inspiration and bright hope. I am rooting for you. You still have loads of time to do all these things and you have more ahead of you than you have behind, so with your optimistic outlook, everything is possible.

It's great to have plans for the future and be able to see how you achieve them, but at the same time it is awesome how everything can happen in life we have to be prepared for any change!

I recently talked in a post about how for so many people the outcome of our goals and dreams looks different from what we thought but from where I’m standing I couldn’t be more happier.  I think it’s such good practice to think about and write down our goals. However, at the age of 40 I have learned that where I ended up and what I am doing is exactly where I’m supposed to be. 

So say you run out of time to mark off every goal on your list by a certain age.  You may not be in the location you dreamt of yet or have things set up in the way you thought.  But that place you end up, the people you are around and the job(s) you  end up performing will most likely be what’s needed for that particular place and time.

My goal was to finish college and become a teacher.  All I wanted to do was teach. Well, I didn’t get a job at a public school but I ended up having five children of my own whom I now homeschool.  On top of that I am a lead teacher at our current homeschool co-op.  My dreams didn’t end up looking as I thought but I’m still doing what I love and that is teaching.

The point of my message was to say not everything may end up a straight line like you are hoping but as long as you are doing what you love, with whom you love and being a blessing to those around you…that’s success in my book ;)

Keep planning and keep dreaming and I hope all of what you desire will come to pass.  Even if it doesn’t look how you thought it would I hope you are able to be content and proud of what you *did* accomplish and find happiness from where you are ~ 💛

I really like this post as it speaks of hopes, dreams *and goals* at the same time as being grounded and showing responsibility. Nice. 

We spoke about your studies a while back and I wish you all the best with that, and hope you are able to find a balance between that and your travels, or at least ensuring that you feed your soul consecutively. Just remember, life doesn't end at 30, or 40 for that matter. You have a lot ahead of you and I think you'll achieve what you set out to. 

New Zealand is amazing and I've been to those glow worm caves, the one's across the lake from Te Anau. It's wondrous. I loved the South Island as only a quarter of the 5 million people live there so it's very natural and very beautiful. I hope you have a good time there.

Those are great dreams and goals to have and they are definitly doable. I know the feeling of not having enough time. It often seems that way when you lay everything out in your head on a time-line. But, it's never too late to go to school, or change or start your career. It's never too late to travel, or settle down and start a family either. 

I hated my fist career and went back to university when I was around 29 to do an undergrad in something different and then on to my Masters when I was 32 or so. In the Masters program there were people aged 26 all the way up to 50, with most of them being over the age of 35-40. Many were just starting new careers. I'm 36 now and haven't even started my new career yet because we moved to France for my wife's job.  

My point of this is that sometimes it feels like there is no time to do things in life, but in actuality it's never too late to do anything. 30 seems old when you're 24 but then you reach 30 and realize that you feel the same as you did back then. Nowadays People have kids later in life (if they chose to), they start careers or change careers at anytime - even when they seem "too old" to others, people travel when they have kids (bring them along or leave them with their grandparents...etc). 

You still have lots of time to follow your dreams. Good luck!
